Some 3D styleframes done for Leica. C4d + Octane.

These are preview renders from a workflow that I was trying to figure out during the last weeks. With the constant desire of improving my 3D character 'Jeremy' and push the realism as far as I could, I wanted to find a solution to bring the excellent quality of Epic Games' Metahuman into C4D and Octane renderer.

The workflow is not flowless, I basically had challenges and problems to solve at every step. It also involved the use of third party plugins.

The good thing is that in my opinion I improved the realism, because the mesh is based on a real 3D scan of my head and the Metahuman groom is excellent quality work. I managed to import the 52 ARKIT blendshapes so I will have to test some facial mocap in the near future. Stay tuned if you are curious :)

I know Metahumans look already perfect in UE and that their bone morph rig animation system is exceptional. I just love the look of Octane and feel much more confortable using C4D. It is also nice to have the ability to play with the same character in both environment, if needed.

There is still a lot of room for improvements, especially the grooming which is still very awkward on some parts.

Every year on July 14th the French community in Korea gather to celebrate the French revolution. This year, on this national day, we all got offered a bag full of French gift. Among those, the serum sample from Yves Saint Laurent instantly caught my eyes. The YSL Pure Shots has a fresh and elegant bottle display design, intriguish colors and is very playful.
