📔Luke 6:48 (ESV)
he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built.

Sometimes we are in a spiritual battle. Stepping forward twice and stepping backward once when it comes to building our intimate relationship with God. We aren't looking at the way forward but thinking of reasons to make us quit serving the Lord.

One brother said a few years that he couldn't understand himself. He said that sometimes he has a strong desire to always attend church and keep on serving, yet all of a sudden his desire subsides. He couldn't understand himself. Why?

And I said, "Keep going!" It is you alone that can motivate yourself. Consider the goodness of God in your life. Keep digging! And Bro. Edgar is still in the house of God, praising the Lord together with us. Praise God! Even though he is the only one left attending from Hanam, he is not discouraged from coming to Nasom on Sundays.

Brothers and sisters: Don't settle for less; keep digging for the word of God. Read the Bible and listen to sermons and gospel songs online that will enhance our spiritual growth. Don't be stagnant!

Stop digging into your history and focus on your destiny. Gone are the old days, our old selves, because we are new. Let us ask God to renew the Holy Spirit in us.
We may have sinned, contaminated, become dirty, and even wasted our time in the past, but God can turn them into blessings. They served as fertilizer for our spiritual growth.

Keep digging; make a strong foundation, na hindi nagigiba

James 5:16 (NIV)

As God says, “Pray for each other so that you may be healed.”

---

When we have the saying, "In Unity there is Strength, Together We Stand, Divided We Fall," it also goes with the Unity Prayer. There is power in praying together at the same time with the same request.

We catch God's attention because it reaches Him in one accord, and it signals an emergency for His attention.

Having the unity prayer, we likewise give our time commitment and enable a large number of individuals to focus on shared hopes.

📔2 Samuel 22:7

“In my distress, I called to the Lord; I called out to my God. From His temple, He heard my voice; my cry came to His ears.”

We do things when we are mad, stressed, or even when we are upset. Some of us wants to be alone, some of us wants to surround ourselves with others. But when we want to vent our pent-up emotions to others, no one is often there for us. We will feel loneliness and desperation to speak our troubles. We often forget that God is there for us.

This passage is about praying to God when in distress, be it from work, home, family, and/or friends. We should pray when we are anxious. We should pray when we are nervous. We should pray when we are lost, mentally, physically, and spiritually.

After all, prayer is the fastest and loudest thing there is. It’s still unspoken, and yet the Lord has already heard our prayers in His temple in Heaven.

📔Proverbs 19:21(NIV)
Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.
---
It is not wrong to make plans, as we are preparing ourselves to always be ready. But that plan is always subject to approval by the Lord.
He will never grant your plan success if it harms you. He delays answering or shuts the door on that opportunity if it doesn't align with his plan.
Let us then present our plan to God for us to carry out the task and attain our goals and objectives as designed by the Lord.

The next time you planned to make and eat spaghetti but there was no available pasta, you ended up eating fruits instead. You know the reason behind it because of your health.

God's plan prevails.

📔1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV)
¹⁶Rejoice always,
¹⁷pray continually,
¹⁸give thanks in all circumstances;for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

At the end of the day, we should always give thanks and acknowledge how good our God is.

This reflection was posted 3 years ago during the pandemic when everything were almost in a chaos situation. It seems then that Covid was unstoppable and will dominate the whole world.
God heard our prayers. He healed our land. Without God's intervention, the world will still be in misery. By His mercy and grace, we are saved.
Glory to His name.

📔Isaiah 43:19(NIV)
¹⁹See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
---
It seems that the world became stagnant when Covid-19 penetrated it. It has been a long time and it seems hard to find the easiest way out to get rid from it. People tend to depend on their own way and discoveries but couldn't see the right way that God is providing us. His way, no other way to go out from any difficult situation.

There is always a way even in the most chaotic situation. Vaccines are available but still there are those stubborn to get it. Cheer up everyone who are in trouble. Just lean unto the Lord and He will make a way for us. Happy Thursday to all.

📔2 Corinthians 9:7
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

📔1 Corinthians 13:4
If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
---
Reflection:
The smallest act of kindness is worth more than a thousand intentions.

When a calamity happens, we truly feel the love and concern of everyone for those victims.
We share anything we can, in kind or in cash. Some think that it is a kind of social obligation, but they forget that this gesture is the best communication we can give them. But without love, we gain nothing.

📔Philippians 4:6-7
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

⁷And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
---
It is very clear that God doesn't want us to worry but to reject that feeling. Sometimes we worry too much, so busy thinking of our own remedy and approach to solve problems in our own way. We tend to forget the best weapon: PRAY.

We think that if there aren't any more options, we landed into prayer. And people are expecting God to change the situation as quickly as they want. Of course, God has the power to change everything, but it doesn't always conform to our liking. Hold on to His promise to give us peace in every situation. He will never leave us nor forsake us.

God just wants us to be thankful, ask what we need through fervent prayers, and humbly submit ourselves to Him.

📔Romans 12:12, (NIV)
"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer."
---
As Christians, we should have the joy in our hope for the things that we do not see. That our great works will succeed and give everlasting joy to us.

What does it mean to be patient in affliction? Some people can't stand tribulation; they don't bear pain, and they easily get annoyed with their situation. No endurance, and they don't show their willingness to carry their cross.

We should keep our faith through prayers. Let's hold on to that, the only way to overcome any obstacle in life.

📔1 Corinthians 3:13 (NIV)..their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work.
---
The main idea is about the rewards and loss. It is mainly concerned with the foundation of our faith. Is it shallow or deeply rooted?

Our faith being tested is expected in many ways.

Fire refers to various trials, tribulations, rejections, persecutions, and sufferings. When we were easily shaken and couldn't stand firm with our faith, then we lost. But when we opted to keep serving the Lord despite being persecuted or under great pressure, then our genuine faith was revealed. We gain reward from Him, and He will strengthen us more so we can help others build a strong foundation of their faith in Jesus by sharing the true gospel.

God uses fire to keep us on our knees. He keeps us in a place (like here at Nasom) where He can use us for His glory.

📔Psalm 90:12(NIV)
Teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
---
As we read God's word and magnify with it--we see new vision and discover it's spiritual meaning in our life.

May the Lord teach us value our days and considerer it as an opportunity to live for His glory. And that we may develop wisdom in our hearts, by faith in Christ.
Praise to the living God.

📔Proverbs 19:17(NIV)
Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord,
and he will reward them for what they have done.
---
Never get tired of doing little goods things to the poor. Sometimes those little good things occupy the biggest part of their hearts.

Having the opportunity to help someone is a chance and privilege for us. Not everyone has the capacity to do that. It's a way of showing our appreciation for all the blessings we have and just sharing a part of it.
Just remember, Jesus said, " Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.

Proverbs 4:1-9
Get Wisdom at Any Cost

¹Listen, my sons, to a father’s instruction;
pay attention and gain understanding.

²I give you sound learning, so do not forsake my teaching.

³For I too was a son to my father, still tender, and cherished by my mother.

⁴Then he taught me, and he said to me,
“Take hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands, and you will live.

⁵Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn away from them.

⁶Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you;
love her, and she will watch over you.

⁷The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom.
Though it cost all you have, get understanding.

⁸Cherish her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you.

⁹She will give you a garland to grace your head and present you with a glorious crown.”

📔Ecclesiastes 5:4-5
⁴When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfill it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow. ⁵It is better not to make a vow than to make one and not fulfill it.
---
Don't take your vow to God for granted.

Promises are made to be broken, as they say. But taking or making a vow, especially to God, and giving a promise have distinctive differences.

Making a vow to God is sacred; it has something to do with our personal relationship with Him.

If we vow something to God, let's keep it, work for it, and fulfill it.
