The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK (ASSPUK) , the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Korean Friendship Association of the UK KFA UK ) ,and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification in Korea (BSCPRKP) issued a joint statement on the 73rd anniversary of the passing away of the immortal anti-Japanese heroine and Mother of Korea Madame Kim Jong Suk

On the 22nd of September 1949 , some 73 years ago , Madame Kim Jong Suk the heroine of the anti-Japanese war passed away at the early age of 32 years after a life of arduous revolutionary struggle for the emancipation of women and the independence of the Korean people. We recall her great exploits .





Madame Kim Jong Suk was born into a humble working family in Hoeryong but took the road of revolution at the early age joining the struggle for the independence of Korea from Japanese imperialism.Madame Kim Jong Suk became an ardent communist revolutionary and anti- imperialist fighter in her youth. She joined the Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army,commanded by the great leader generalissimo Kim Il Sung throwing herself into the sacred struggle for the liberation of Korea from the iron heel of Japanese imperialism.

During the anti-Japanese armed struggle Madame Kim Jong Suk distinguished herself as a great partisan and crack-shot . She was also the bodyguard of the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung. She was a paragon, a role model of loyalty .

Madam Kim Jong Suk was the pioneer of the communist revolutionary women's movement. Her teachings offer profound inspiration and guidance for the progressive and revolutionary women of the world. Kim Jong Suk was a shining example of communist womanhood.After liberation Madame Kim Jong Suk built up the Democratic Women's Union of Korea, struggling against opportunism and factionalism. She led the work of freeing women from the shackles of feudalism.

Madame Kim Jong Suk made a profound contribution to the building of a new democratic Korea after liberation in 1945 . She worked hard to build a new Korea of Juche, without rest or let-up. She took part in the building of the people's armed forces of People's Korea , thus enriching the Songun revolutionary cause. Her life was most exemplary.

Madame Kim Jong Suk gave a revolutionary upbringing to the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il so that he would become a future great leader and great commander of Songun.

The life of Madame Kim Jong Suk is an example to revolutionary and progressive women of the world . She was a role model for true proletarian feminism and Juche-orientated women's liberation.

Despite the passing of time , the memory of Madame Kim Jong Suk , the mother of Korea, burns brightly in the hearts of Juche Idea and Songun Idea followers and true friends of People's Korea.

Madame KIM JONG SUK joined the revolutionary struggle for independence from Japan at an early age and soon distinguished herelf as a great guerrilla fighter and explemary political worker . She played an important role in the building a of new Korea as well as liberating women .
KFA UK remembers a great woman revolutionary fighter on the 72nd anniversary of her passing away .

KIM JONG SUK - An exemplary revolutionary fighter

Madame KIM JONG SUK , the Mother of Korea , anti-Japanese revolutionary heroine and indomitable communist revolutionary fighter was born 103 years ago on the 24th of December in Hoeryong City in the northern part of Korea .
In the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea there are statues of her . in fact the DPRK is one of the few Asian countries to have statues of a woman leader . There are a number of institutions and places named after her such as the KIM JONG SUK Textile Mill which our delegation visited in 2019.There is also a KIM JONG SUK university and a KIM JONG SUK county .
Madame KIM JONG SUK stands out as an example of a truly proletarian and Juche-based feminist leader. She was born into a colonial and feudal subject in which people were subjected to terrible oppression by the Japanese imperialists , feudal landlords and capitalists . For women the situation was doubly and triply worse , they were subject to extreme oppression and had to suffer from backward feudal customs. Worse still the Japanese imperialists imperialists subjected 200, 000 Korean woman to s*xual slavery , an unspeakable crime committed by the truly fiendish and evil Japanese imperialists . Comrade KIM JONG SUK was made a slave to a landlord because of an unpaid debt .
Comrade KIM JONG SUK a brave and resourceful young woman took the road of revolution early in life . She joined the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army and became known as a distinguished crackshot .
She upheld the revolutionary ideas of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG and defended him with her life . She brought the young comrade KIM JONG IL as a great revolutionary and future leader.

Comrade KIM JONG SUK fought hard for women’s liberation both during the anti-Japanese armed struggle and after the liberation of Korea . She did believe in the divisive idea of women fighting against men but instead believing in women fighting alongside men for a better world for both . After liberation she founded and led the Women’s Union . The DPRK pursued the road of genuine socialist women’s liberation thanks to comrade KIM JONG SUK . Today the DPRK is a model of true women’s liberation as it has free childcare . In the DPRK you will not find the s*x industry that degrades women .

Comrade KIM JONG SUK is the symbol of the new women of Juche Idea and stands out as a great example of a revolutionary fighter.

Leading the Women to Become Masters of the Country
The Korean people remember the immortal exploits of the anti-Japanese war heroine Kim Jong Suk who led the women to become the proud masters of the country after liberation
One day in December Juche 34(1945) just after Korea's liberation from the colonial rule of the Japanese imperialists, Kim Jong Suk who was staying in Chongjin City of North Hamgyong Province was told that a women's union organization had been formed in Ingok-dong and called on women's unionists there.
The women were very excited to meet her.
They felt as if they were in dream when Kim Jong Suk, who had earned her name as a woman commander of Mt. Paektu during the anti-Japanese war, was so openhearted to them without ceremony.
After warmly shaking hands with them, she sat face-to-face with them without reserve and learned in detail about the conditions of the women's union organization.
A woman frankly told that she had entered the women's union organization but she was spending idle days without knowing what to do.
After learning about the situation in detail through the stories of the women's unionists, Kim Jong Suk said: Together with men, our women should also take an active part in the building of a powerful independent, sovereign state. Our women, who lived in sorrow in the past, should actively participate in the work to eliminate the decadent feudal conventions and the old ideological remnants of the Japanese imperialists with our own strength, achieve social emancipation and rehabilitate the industrial establishments as early as possible.
Where there is a will, there is a way. Before liberation, our women took part in the bloody struggle with arms in our hands to liberate the country, and organized the Women's Association to actively help the Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Army.
Kim Jong Suk also told them impressive stories about the struggle of the resourceful and brave members of the Women's Association.
Her stories gave the women the conviction that they can do something helpful for the building of a new country.
Looking at the women's unionists full of vigour for a while, Kim Jong Suk called upon those present to become the core elements and rally all women in the village around the women's union organization and actively mobilize them for the building of a new country.
Many years have passed since then. Now the Korean women are making an active contribution to the development of the country, true to the intention of Kim Jong Suk.

Woman Commander of Mt Paektu and Revolutionary Heritage
Pyongyang, September 19 (KCNA) -- It has been 70 years since the anti-Japanese war heroine Kim Jong Suk passed away.

She embarked on the road of revolution in her early years and had not laid down her arms till the last moments of her life and handed down it as a precious heritage.

One day in May Juche 35 (1946), she came to attend a picnic hosted by officials of the newspaper Jongno, in company with President Kim Il Sung, and take part in a shooting contest.

At that time, she told her son, Chairman Kim Jong Il, that she would convey her pistol to him in the future and that he should safeguard Kim Il Sung with it.

Reflected in those words was her ardent wish that Kim Jong Il would value the arms and become an excellent general versed in military affairs like Kim Il Sung.

Later, Kim Jong Il, telling the story about this small pistol, said that he would hold the President in high esteem and accomplish his cause, regarding the pistol as his mental mainstay.

With the arms of revolution bequeathed by Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Suk, the Chairman turned the DPRK, the socialist homeland of Juche, into a military giant, a country dignified with arms. -
