FINANCIAL MARKET is a forum to facilitate financial transactions through the money creation, sale and transfer of financial securities.

The Financial market is divided into two main divisions, namely:

Money Market – Facilitate trading in short-term debt instruments to meet short-term needs of large users of funds such as governments, banks and similar institutions

Capital Market – Facilitates the mobilization of long-term investment capital for the financing of business enterprises as well as Government long term investment projects.

In Capital Market there are main 3 instrument for both buyer (surplus) and seller (deficit) making or receiving money included:

Securities

Bond

Derivative

For mechanisms of trading are based on the 2 areas as below:

Primary Market – deals with the trading of new securities. When a company issues securities for the first time (i.e. IPO).

Secondary Market – Facilitates the buying and selling of securities that are already in the hands of the general public (investors).

For Secondary Market, securities (Stocks), Bond, and Derivative are traded with following options:

Stock Market or Stock Exchange – is an organized financial platform that deals in transactions involving the buying and selling of financial securities in the Secondary Market. In short, the Stock Exchange does the work of a Secondary Market by facilitating a formal trading arrangement for financial securities

Over - the – Counter – A security traded in some context other than on a formal exchange such as the NYSE, CSX, etc. The phrase "over-the-counter" can be used to refer to stocks that trade via a dealer network as opposed to on a centralized exchange. It also refers to debt securities and other financial instruments such as, derivatives which are traded through a dealer network
