According to the legislation, Kenyans who go against the law, will be deemed to have committed an offence and shall upon conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding Ksh20,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or both.

According to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification, up to 40 per cent of the planet’s land is degraded, directly affecting half of the world’s population and threatening roughly half of global GDP (US$44 trillion). Speaking at the launch of EABL’s sustainability report, Environment, Climate Change and Forestry Cabinet Secretary (CS) Soipan Tuya applauded EABL for its commitment to reducing water and energy consumption, increasing the use of renewable energy and minimizing waste generation.

“The partnership between the government and private sector, for sustainability, is a pivotal alliance that holds immense potential for driving transformative change and achieving a sustainable future,” said Tuya.
