Hey, Facebook family,

As the long rainy season arrives, I am reminded of a powerful Maasai saying: "To be without cows is like not existing at all." This proverb emphasizes the critical role that cattle play in the lives of the Maasai people, providing them with food, wealth, and cultural identity.

It got me thinking about what gives our lives meaning and purpose. Just as the Maasai value their cows, we all have something that is integral to our existence and defines who we are. This could be a particular talent, a set of values that we hold dear, or a network of friends and family who support us.

So, as we welcome the long rainy season, let's take some time to reflect on what makes us unique and how we can continue to nurture these strengths. Whether it's advancing our careers, building meaningful relationships, or pursuing our passions, let's make sure we're taking care of what matters most to us.

In conclusion, let us take inspiration from the Maasai saying "To be without cows is like not existing at all" and appreciate the things that give our lives purpose and meaning. Here's to a fruitful and fulfilling long rainy season ahead!

Cheers,
Kipainoi

My Story

Working in the News Department on Radio was an eye opener for me. I covered influential people telling lies in broad daylight as people cheered, saw disastrous decisions being made yet no one said a word as well communities suffering for lack of adequate representation in the decision making process.

Joining a team of young people from all over the world in Salzburg, Austria changed everything. I met Prof. Henry Jenkins and his team and we delved into Civic Imagination... imagining better alternatives to substitute current problems we face.

That is when I began working with young enthusiastic, and creative people, to tap into the power of imagination in influencing civic narratives.
