In the quiet of night, a whisper grows,
Of a life lived grasping, longing, confined.
In desperate moments, the taker's heart knows,
The weight of hands empty, the yearning to find.
I've walked through days of shadows and need,
Where taking was all my heart understood.
Yet a flicker within sowed a silent seed,
A hope to give, to turn the darkness to good.
Oh, to touch a life, to leave a mark unseen,
To change a world where repayment can't be found.
A dream to illuminate, to step where others lean,
To plant compassion where despair is unbound.
Now, in the gentle art of healing, I stand,
With the power to show love, to listen, to care.
Nursing's embrace, a guiding hand,
Where empathy blossoms and burdens we share.
In this sacred calling, my prayer takes flight,
"Bless my path, widen my reach, shield me from pain."
With each tender moment, my soul takes delight,
In the giving that transforms, the strength to sustain.
Yet fears and doubts linger, shadows of the past,
In compassion's embrace, my doubts are surpassed,
And in this new journey, my true self holds sway.
