When cultural events like the Taita-Taveta Cultural festival are held in other counties like Mombasa and Nairobi, it means that the home county Taita-Taveta, which is ideally the backbone of the cultures being showcased, loses both in terms of business and cultural identity. Maybe it's also an indication that the organisers are, first and foremost, inclined towards business and not cultural values. This should stir our sleeping county leadership to sit down with the organisers and find a way of ploughing back the gains of these events into the home county.
