Buana do you know what happened today? Raila Odinga and Musalia W Mudavadi held a joint press briefing on the status of AUC chairmanship bid by the enigma. Mr. Odinga was flanked by his razor-sharp strategy team while Mr. Mudavadi checked in with top cream policy geeks from the Ministry of Foreign affairs. During the briefing, Mudavadi elucidated that language experts have already been engaged to translate jakom's curriculum vitae, which is in German, into six languages this being a prerequisite for application of the coveted post. Once done, the CV will be married with Jakom's academic papers and flown like a trophy to Addis accompanied by top military and government officials. And before I forget, six months to the election day, Mudavadi added, all the contestants will be grilled in a gruelling live debate that will be broadcasted by all the radio and TV stations in Africa. . It's here where Raila is expected to sink his teeth into his opponents skins bila huruma and make them see what the donkey saw in the hole of bala. Buana Raila will either win or his opponents will lose.

ODM PRESS STATEMENT

The ODM Party’s Central Committee has had a meeting with its elected leaders from Migori and Kisii to get a brief following recent worrying incidents in the two counties. In attendance from Migori was the Governor Dr. Ochilo Ayacko, Woman Representative Hon. Fatuma Mohamed, Senator Hon. Eddy Oketch, the MP for Suna West Hon Peter Masara, and his Suna East counterpart Hon. Junet Mohammed. From Kisii Mps Hon. Antony Kibagendi (Kitutu Chache-South), Hon. Obadiah Barongo (Bomachoge Borabu).

The Hon. Patrick Osero from Borabu in Nyamira was also present.

What has emerged from the briefing is that there is a clear and calculated plan to use state power to destabilize ODM-run counties and constituencies in partnership with rogue members of the party, some subject to ongoing disciplinary proceedings, who have since pledged allegiance to the regime.

The idea seems to be to utilize state force particularly the police and the Provincial Administration to prop up the so-called rebels in an attempt to pe*****te our strongholds.

In Migori, police fired teargas at mourners at the direction of Uriri MP Mark Nyamita. Hon Nyamita was invited to today’s meeting but failed to attend. At this stage, the Party wishes to dissociate itself from Hon. Nyamita fully. We have granted his wish to no longer be part of us and advise our members in Uriri and Migori generally that he is an agent of UDA with the assigned task of sowing confusion and discord within ODM. Hon Nyamita does not speak for nor represent the Party at any level and we advise our members to view and treat him and all those who support him accordingly.

In Bomachoge-Borabu, UDA MPs in a bid to undermine the area ODM MP brandished employment letters from the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS). These bad manners was begun by the CS for Education Hon. Ezekiel Machogu. We cannot think of a greater example of abuse of office. There is also continued harassment of our leaders including the Governor, MPs, and our supporters in Kisii County by the police and provincial administration.

The master puppeteer behind these schemes has been identified as none other than the PS for Internal Security Raymond Omollo.

The Party condemns in the strongest terms, this blatant abuse of Police and State power to intimidate our people and prop up regime stooges in our strongholds.

We will lodge formal complaints to the relevant authorities in the next few days.

We have also asked members of our Parliamentary Group (PG) to summon the CS for Education and his Tourism and Wildlife counterpart Dr. Alfred Mutua to explain the hiring policy at the TSC, KWS, and other government departments and how Kenyans who do not support UDA can also access employment opportunities.

In the meantime, we urge our supporters to remain vigilant and smell out these nefarious schemes by the regime and its stooges who hide amongst us thinking.

Hon. Edwin Sifuna, MP
SECRETARY-GENERAL

Raila Odinga NOT INTERESTED!!

ODM leader Raila Odinga's lead legal counsel Paul Mwangi now says a majority of Kenyans (ME INCLUDED) are against the former's bid at the African Union secretariat.

Speaking of the bid, Mwangi says the seat is not a matter of life and death for Raila

According to him, Kenyans pray that the former prime minister flunks the race so that he could be occupied in the local affairs bedevilling the country.

The lawyer was responding to Kericho senator Aaron Cheruiyot's argument that Raila was denting his chances of being the next AUC by scathingly attacking President William Ruto.

JUNET FINED!

High Court has ordered MP Junet Mohamed to pay Nyali MP Mohammed Ali Sh6 million in damages in a 2022 defamation suit..

The court in its ruling also instructs the Suna East lawmaker to meet all costs Ali incurred during the proceedings.

Junet in 2022 averred that Ali had an affair with X user named Aoko Otieno a factor that did not augur well with the former media personality.

The court asserts that Junnet had in 2022 through his X app account (formerly Twitter) posted obscene comments with the name ‘Jicho Pevu’ referring to the Nyali lawmaker, a factor which he claimed tainted his image and his standing in the Islamic faith

NO MONEY FOR DOCTORS?

Get this: If President William Ruto appoints Chief Administrative Secretaries (CASs), they're set to roll in a staggering Ksh.780,000 gross salary!

SRC's evaluation puts a cap on CAS salaries at Ksh.780,000, a tad higher than the Ksh.710,000 monthly pocket change for MPs. But wait, there's more: this hefty package breaks down to Ksh.459,113 in basic pay, Ksh.165,000 for housing, and a cool Ksh.155,887 for salary market adjustments.

But hold onto your seats, because it doesn't end there. CASs also get sweet rides, courtesy of the government, with an official GK car—3000cc or less, though, no need to be too flashy.

And get this: SRC's Chair Lyn Mengich isn't just whispering this info to one person—oh no! She's sending letters to Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, Treasury's Chris Kiptoo, Public Service's Amos Gathecha, and Auditor General Nancy Gathungu, making sure everyone's in the loop.

But wait, there's more! These CASs also score a killer medical package, with Ksh.10 million for inpatient care, Ksh.300,000 for outpatient, maternity at Ksh.150,000, dental at Ksh.75,000, and optical at Ksh.75,000. Plus, they can extend this health bonanza to a spouse and up to four kids under 25.

And just when you thought it couldn't get juicier, the National Assembly slides in a bill green-lighting these appointments, scrapping previous caps on the number of CASs. Now, President Ruto has the golden ticket to appoint as many as he pleases.

BEATEN TO DEATH ☠️!

Police in Rachuonyo South in Homa Bay County have arrested an off duty Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldier who was allegedly captured on a viral video torturing a man before the victim was later found dead.

In the video, the alleged military man who is in the company of another man is seen assaulting a person who was later identified as Collins Okiro aged 30 at Sino village in Rachuonyo South Sub-county.

Police have established that the incident happened on April 7,2024.

Okiro could be heard begging for mercy as two men assaulted him.

One of the men is seen stepping on Okiro’s head with his right leg and pressing his weight on the helpless man.

The men are heard accusing the deceased of stealing from them.

The two men were demanding to know from Okiro the identity of his accomplices.

But Okiro is heard defending himself that he is not a thief.

Rachuonyo South Sub-county Police Commander Lilies Wachira said the KDF soldier stormed the late Okiro’s home at 9am accompanied by his brother and another man.

Investigations have established that the three men found the deceased with his wife and engaged him in a small talk before they persuaded him to accompany them.

“They convinced him to leave with them to a destination that was not clear to his wife,” Ms Wachira said.

But a few meters away from his house the accused and his colleagues are reported to have turned against Okiro and beat him up.

In the video, Okiro’s eyes are covered with a piece of cloth as the men assault him.

His body was later found dumped a few meters away from the scene.

According to Ms Wachira, Okiro’s wife identified the suspect and his brother as the people who picked her husband.

“She recorded a statement and identified the suspects,” the police boss said.

The suspects are currently detained at Oyugis police station.

Okiro’s body was moved to Rachuonyo South Sub-county hospital mortuary.
