President Salva Kiir Mayardiit today received four important bills from the speaker of the RTNLA.

The Speaker of the Revitalized Transitional National Legislative Assembly. Hon. Jemma Nunu Kumba, on Friday submitted four important Bills to President Salva Kiir Mayardit for accesion and signing into laws.

The four Bills include the National Security Amendment Act -2024, the Road Finance Agreement with Ethiopia Bill as well as the ratification of Treaty on Trade with China, and the Agreement on the Nile Basin Cooperative Framework.

While the Parliament has already passed the Bills, the President is expected to meet with the Minister of Justice and his legal team to further study the Bills before signing them into laws.

President Salva Kiir Tasks New Finance Minister to Boost Non-Oil Revenues.

President Salva Kiir Mayardit has tasked the newly appointed Minister of Finance, Dr. Marial Dongrin Ater, with the responsibility of implementing measures to consolidate the collection of non-oil revenues.

President Kiir expressed concern over the fact that employees have gone without salaries for a solid 9 months. He highlighted that the non-oil revenues collected in the country are sufficient to cover government expenses, including employee salaries.

The President instructed Minister Ater to establish a single account for all revenues and to crack down on corrupt practices within the non-oil revenue sector. He emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in revenue collection.

Dr. Marial expressed gratitude to the President for entrusting him to serve the nation through the Ministry of Finance. Marial said, he will sit together with the larger economic sector to urgently determine a realistic and viable action to address the pressing economic issues.

President Salva Kiir Mayardiit today met with FVP Dr. Riek Machar inorder to discuss the unification of the armed forces.

Today, President Kiir, and FVP, Dr. Riek Machae discussed about the implementation of the phase two of the security arrangements.

During the interaction, the two head of parties agreed that, the second phase of training of the unified forces will commence in the next two weeks.

Presidential Advisor on National Security Affairs Hon.Tut Gatluak Manime, stressed that both parties are committed to implement the key provisions of the peace agreement, in order to achieve a sustainable peace and stability in the country.
