"IT'S RAIN SEASON ! ADVICE YOUR CHILDREN TO KEEP OFF WATER BODIES"-Water Minister Catherine Mutanu
Machakos County Minister for Water Catherine Mutanu Raphael has asked parents to stop their children from loitering along rivers and all water bodies.
Mutanu also said that it's high time during this period when children have closed school, parents should monitor their children's behaviours , provide counselling, and stop them from loitering along rivers.
The Minister used the opportunity to call on Machakos residents to harvest rain water that goes to waste and keep it safe.
"Kindly install water guards to be able to harvest rainwater into your tanks and other storage facilities in your homes. Don't let water go to waste, " said Mutanu
Minister Catherine Mutanu observed that most homes still depend on water from rivers when they can easily harvest and store water safely from daily rains pounding.
On the other hand, Mutanu urged Machakos people to use the opportunity to plant more trees in a bid to make Machakos and Kenya at large green.
Minister Mutanu is fully committed to serving Machakos people fruitfully.
Under her leadership as the water minister in Machakos, the rate of water supply has increased , more dams have been constructed, more boreholes have been installed, county tanks have been supplied in most of Machakos

Wilson Muema Masila - Katelembu Cooperative Society Chairperson To Exit In June,2024
Katelembu Cooperative Society Chairperson in Machakos County- Wilson Muema Masila has announced that he will officially exit as Chairperson in June,this year,2024.
Speaking to Jamii TV KENYA , Chairperson Wilson Muema Masila said that he feels happy for achieving his goal of ensuring that Katelembu Cooperative Society members get title deeds.
According to Muema, his only target goal was to settle Katelembu land disputes that have been witnessed over many years and ensure that the members get title deeds ,for them to settle in their land peacefully with no any fear.
Under his leadership, members of the society have been issued with tittle deeds and the process of issuance is still on until June, when he will exiting as Chairperson.
The historical land injustices associated with the society will now come to end.
The land issues for Katelembu have been politicised for over many years and left unsolved, but through Wilson Muema Masila's intervention, just few years in office, the members can now afford a smile.
The issuance of title deeds will enable them develop their land, practice farming and carry on other income generating activities, in return, raising their living standards and also developing Machakos County.
Having over 1000 ready title deeds, Chairperson Wilson Muema Masila urged all members to ensure they collect their title deeds before june, since he will be exiting as Chairperson and he needs to have served all members rightfully.

Various leaders including Machakos County Governor Wavinya Ndeti,DG Francis Mwangangi,County Woman Representative Joyce Kamene and Senator Agnes Kavindu asked the Wiper leader to now move across the country and popularize his 2027 Presidential bid as the Ukambani region was firmly behind him.
Speaking at funeral services at Kyangala and later at Kola in Kalama Sub-county the leaders said it was now Kalonzo's turn to lead the country and there was no turning back.
Governor Ndeti caused laughter while speaking in a mixture of Kiswahili and Kikamba said the people were going to force Mr Musyoka to run for the Presidency even if he was unwilling.
"Hii kiti ya President sio tafadhali,tutakukuthiia huko (There is no compromise about this Presidential bid.We will force you in).Move around Kenya.Here in ukambani we are firmly behind you,"said Governor Ndeti.
Woman Rep Joyce Kamene said other regions will support Mr Musyoka's bid if the Kamba community was serious about the same.
"It is our time to lead and we are not begging. It is they(other regions )who will see the dust we are raising and come to us,"said Ms Kamene.
County Senator Agnes Kavindu urged the community to remain united behind the Wiper leader adding that even people in central region were now regretting about their presidential choice in the last general election.
The leaders also challenged President William Ruto to demonstrate leadership by respecting the independence of the judiciary and other arms of government.
Kalonzo who was also at the burial in Kyangala said the independence of the judiciary was not negotiable and that is why he had recently joined the Law Society of Kenya in a demonstration to protest against to the President's remarks on the judiciary.

Jamii TV KENYA UPDATES: GOVERNOR WAVINYA NDETI'S EFFORTS TO BOOST COFFEE PRODUCTION IN MACHAKOS
Hundreds of farmers in Machakos County on Friday received Agricultural Grants worth over 70 Million Shillings in form of assorted fertilizers,foliar feeds, pesticides among other farm inputs to boost coffee production.
The more than 3000 farmers at Mukuyuni Coffee cooperative Society in Kathiani, Kakuyuni Society in Kangundo and Kambusu in Matungulu Sub-Counties are beneficiaries of the programme launched by Machakos County governor Wavinya Ndeti in partnership with the Kenya Climate Smart Agriculture Project (KSCAP).
Through the County Government of Machakos and Kenya and (KSCAP) Mukuyuni Coffee Cooperative Society had earlier received an enterprise development grant worth Kshs.10,000,000. The society also made a contribution of Ksh.4,300,000 towards the project.
The Enterprise Development grant was used to connect power, renovate and paint the receiving bay. Other works done included; renovating and expanding the sorting bay, construction of a water tower, installation of water tanks and water reticulation.
To improve on the drying process, the farmers added 80 more modern metallic drying beds and installed a modern security system with three solar lights to light up the compound at night.
Pulping disk and a huller for Mbuni and naturals were also part of the key installations made at Mukuyuni Coffee Cooperative Society. To bring down on electricity cost,the Coffee society installed a 3 phase solar photovoltaic power that will be mainly used for pumping water from the boreholes.
To improve on productivity Mukuyuni Coffee Cooperative Society also received a grant worth Kshs. 18,500,000. The monies were used to procure assorted agrochemicals, fertilizers and agricultural lime.

Yesterday, Machakos County Governor Wavinya Ndeti and DG Francis Mwangangi, received donations in form of computers and other electronic equipments from Osho Chemical Industries Ltd, at Machakos Whitehouse.
The computers will be distributed to various vocational training centers across the county through the department of education,ecde and skills training to enable the institutions offer comprehensive programs that align with current industry standards.
