Studies show that 40% of the actions that we perform each day are habits, rather than decisions. If so, then that means we can automate our actual ass-kickin' labor-intensive tasks every day as we do with our digital systems and project management!
🚀 Here are 10 successful habits that entrepreneurs program into their daily lives:
1. Have a morning routine - Start with waking up in the morning and making your bed. I've learned that making your bed in the morning is such a powerful task to tick off as it sets the task completion mood for your entire day. After that, you may add your exercises or breakfast and e-mail cleaning as your next morning tasks.
2. Stop procrastinating - Easier said than done, I know! The trick is to be intentional about it and incorporate it into the routine checklist. One trick I learned is to write down 5 of your task for that day, put the 3 big ones on top, and commit to doing the first big 3 as soon as possible.
3. Prioritize - Prioritize! Prioritize! Not all tasks are supposed to be done in one day. This is a sure-fire way to burn out before the week even ends. Write down all your to-do's, break them down into sections, and number them from the most important to the least. This way you don't get too overwhelmed and decide to lie down and browse Netflix instead!
4. Think positive - According to studies, your brain does not know the difference between reality and imagination. It believes what you tell it, so show your mind love, show your mind good things, show your mind peace.
5. Be open to new learning - You can't fill a cup that is already full. In this world, everything is evolving and what you've read 10 years ago might not be the case now. Empty your cup every day and be ready to receive (and examine) every piece of knowledge that comes your way.
6. Be Good - Repeat after me "I'm always good, but I am not always nice". Being good and being nice are two different things, and you must always aim to have good intentions rather than to be a nice people pleaser.
7. Don't let loud opinions quiet you - Everyone has opinions and some voices are louder than others, but that doesn't mean that all loud voices are right. So, stand your ground respect your own opinions, and be ready to agree to disagree.
And if these opinions are towards you, then deliberate them and use the good points to better yourself and your business.
8. Stay organized - Each person has different organizational habits that they are comfortable with. Whatever organization looks like to you, make sure that you sort your files into organized folders (on your computer and in real life) so you can easily find what you are looking for. If you know where everything is located, it will lessen your mental load as well.
9. Must love lists - I love lists so much that I have never-ending lists -- some even untouched! (Shocks!). List down your to-do's. to-buy, to-reads, and so on. Having them in a list makes them easier to check and scratching them off one by one satisfyingly, is a bonus.
10. Keep on keeping on - I have learned that the secret to success isn't intelligence. It's grit. This trait keeps you moving forward from failures and disappointments. This set a person apart from someone intelligent but lacks perseverance. It's a classic hare and tortoise story. Keep moving, and keep on. Tomorrow is another day!
