TO THE PEOPLE OF HOL, DUK COUNTY, JONGLEI STATE AND BEYOND

It is with deep sadness to announce the death of our legend Wrestler, Agutmaguil, manyar well known by his birth name as Mayen, he was born in 1998 in Duk padiet, Duk county, Jonglei state, South Sudan. He died on 10/3/2022 in Twic East County, Jonglei state, South Sudan.

Wrestler Mayen was erroneously shot at the scene where 2 Twic east citizens were involved in a fight among themselves, where they were rebuilding dyke/dike/levee/floodbank.
Dyke/levee is a structure that is usually earthen and that often runs parallel to the course of a river in its floodplain or along low-lying coastlines. The purpose of the levee/dyke is to keep the course of the river from changing and protect against flooding of the area adjoining the river or coast.

Mayen was the son of an incredible chief and community leader Deng Lueth of Pathel, paan Lueth, Hol, Duk Padiet. Mayen was a great wrestler in duk county, He was one of the most celebrated, victorious wrestler in Duk county and Jonglei state at large.

Agutmaguil aka Mayen was among the participants who went to Bor town for a wrestling match between Duk Padiet Vs Makuach, which took place in December 2021 in Bor town, Jonglei state. Agutmaguil drew in this match. In addition, Duk Padiet wrestlers were announced as the winners. It was such a victorious moment for duk county citizens and beyond

Today we are shocked about the death of our beloved brother, a legend, and future wrestler of duk county, Mayen Deng Lueth aka Manyar, Agutmaguil was a well-known figure within our society.
He was not only one of the most celebrated wrestler of his lifetime but was also a good-hearted, wistful, friendly and loving brother in our community and beyond.

It is with great sorrow to inform you that our faultless son Ajang Kuany Ajang (Ajangthi) from Kongor , pan alek , pan yuot lost his life to to heartless Turkanas. He was a young refugee and a game changer in Kakuma Refugee Camp. He was shot last evening in Kakuma 3 near Kakuma Reception. He passed away at noon today while he was being taken to Lodwar for proper medic. The cause of his killing is still under investigation. The tension is under control right now. We request every refugee in the camp to be vigilant and remain indoors during late hours. Rest In Peace
