The body of President Emilio Mwai Kibaki will lie-in-State in Parliament for three days, from today Monday, 25th April to Wednesday, 27th April 2022, to allow Kenyans adequate time to pay their last respects to the former Head of State.

Intriguing details have emerged regarding the last moments of former president the late Mwai Kibaki who passed on yesterday.

According to sources, Kibaki’s family resorted to keeping his last days on earth away from nosy politicians, the media, and his area residents.

Sources detailed that Kibaki fell ill a few days before his demise and was admitted to a hospital in Nairobi.

His family was said to have stayed by his side, with only his inner circle kept abreast of his progress and whereabouts.

He was said to be recuperating well until Wednesday, April 20, when his health deteriorated.

Sources privy to Kibaki’s whereabouts noted that he was unwell for almost a fortnight and the family was hopeful that he would make it through.

However, his family ensured that, unlike in the past few years, his health and admission was kept private, with only close family members and friends allowed to visit him.

Kibaki’s last photos that were shared with the public were released by his family in November 2021, while celebrating his 90th birthday.

Kenya’s third President Mwai Kibaki is dead.

Kibaki has died aged 90, President Uhuru Kenyatta confirmed on Friday, April 22, 2022 in a televised address to the nation.

“As a leading figure in Kenya’s post-indepedence history, Mwai Kibaki earned the abiding respect and affection of the people of this nation and other nations throughout the world,” said President Kenyatta in his address.

“President Kibaki will forever be remembered as a gentleman in Kenyan politics.

“He was a brilliant debater, whose eloquence wit and charm won the day, time and time again.

“His contributions in the Ministry of Finance and as Kenya’s Vice-President saw the country’s economy grow steadily.

“Believing that Kenya was once again ripe for vibrant multi-democracy, President Kibaki exited from government and led the charge of keeping the ruling party accountable.

“His contributions to the restoration of multi-party democracy, as the leader of the official opposition, combined with his track record and impressive credentials made Mwai Kibaki the natural choice for selection as the opposition consensus candidate against my own candidature in 2002 and the presidential elections that followed thereafter.”

Following Mwai Kibaki’s death, President Kenyatta ordered that flags be flown at half-mast from today (Friday, April 22, 2022) until the burial day of Mwai Kibaki. Uhuru further said the former President will be accorded State Funeral.

The President also ordered that his motorcade and those of the Deputy President, Chief Justice, Speakers of both Houses of Parliament and all Diplomats should not fly the Kenyan flag until Mwai Kibaki is buried.

Kibaki will be accorded a State send-off with full military honours, President Kenyatta said.

Mwai Kibaki is survived by four children Judy Wanjiku, Jimmy Kibaki, David Kagai and Tony Githinji.

Muturi Kigano, the chair for Justice and Legal affairs National Assembly committee and a staunch supporter of Azimio One Kenya Alliance denied Jubilee party ticket to defend Kangema Mp.
Instead the ticket has been awarded to George Kibuku who will face Peter Kihungi in August polls.

Mombasa politician Ali Mwatsau on Tuesday night survived an assassination attempt in Tudor.

Mr Mwatsau ,who was heading home from a mosque was ambushed by gunmen in two vehicles who shot 22 times on the right side of his vehicle. The incident happened at around 10pm near JCC Buxton.

He sustained gunshot wounds on his arms and legs and was rushed to a Mombasa hospital for treatment by a tuktuk motorist.

Police also secured the scene and took photographs before the bullet riddled vehicle was towed.

Huge Relief for job seekers. Employment ammendment bill sponsored by nominated MP, Gideon Keter was signed into law yesterday by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The law now prohibits employers from asking/requiring potential employees to have clearance from HELB, DCl/Police, KRA, CRB, EACC etc unless an offer of employment is guaranteed for them.

Obtaining these clearance certificates has been said to be expensive, tedious, burdensome & nerve-wracking for millions of broke and desperate job seekers in Kenya.

Police in Machakos are looking for a 43-year old man over the gruesome murder of his wife at their home in Kikumbo village within Kalama Sub-location on Friday night.
The body of 35-year old Faith Mueni, an employee of Kenya Railways was discovered the following morning with her throat partially slit, right hand cut in several places and head with deep panga cuts.
Her husband, Harrison Mutisya Muiva, went into hiding after the incident, fleeing with Mueni's car.

A 33-year-old man died yesterday evening after he was trapped inside a boiler at Blue Nile, an established steel manufacturing facility in Thika, Kiambu County.
In what stalled all activities at the mega factory, Caleb Otieno, a second born in their family who had been working at the boiler's section was accidentally liquefied to death leaving family and fellow workers in disbelief and grief.
In what shocked many, none of Otieno's body organs was recovered as his entire body had been smashed and mixed with the boiler's fluid.

A China Eastern Airlines Boeing 737-800 with 132 people on board plunged midflight and crashed in a mountainous area of southern China on Monday, according to officials and flight-tracking data.

If all 123 passengers and nine crew members are confirmed dead, it would be China's deadliest airline crash since 1994 and the deadliest ever for China Eastern Airlines, according to the Aviation Safety Network database.
