The latest Mara Elephant Project sponsored Boots on the ground pod episode features Holly Budge founder of World Female Ranger Week and the international not-for-profit How Many Elephants. Holly is a long-time friend of MEP and her passion for women on the frontline of conservation is infectious.

“What really stood out for me about MEP rangers is their camaraderie. I think you have to have that. Patrolling on the frontlines with male and female rangers makes climbing Everest look like child’s play.” – Holly Budge

As Holly likes to say, conservation without funding is a conversation. Your continued support enables a diverse group of Kenyans to have equal access to make an impact on the wildlife and wild spaces they cherish.

Currently, less than 11% of the global wildlife ranger workforce is female. Now more than ever, it’s all hands on deck to have this number triple up and have more women representation across the Global Ranger Workforce.

In this year’s World Female Ranger Week campaign, we are calling on all actors and supporters of conservation to give towards a greater cause for the sake of our future, and that of our shared Biodiversity.

These resilient women from the local community have got what it takes to protect our natural world and shape the way toward a just and sustainable future.
