Stawisha MSE Mashinani is an initiative of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Enterprise Development which is aimed at creating a one stop shop for MSEs either startups, interested in expansion or modernization.
The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Enterprise development recognizes that MSE’s in Kenya are facing challenges while doing business. Some of these challenges being; limited access to finance, lack of knowledge and required skills in business development, marketing and strategy management, lack of a robust policy and regulatory framework and information on business sustainability and operating environment friendly businesses. It therefore, put together this nationwide program that will offer business advisory, yards/shades, equity, asset financing, working capital, project finance and grants for growth and sustainability of the MSE’s.
This program is one of the many initiatives by the Ministry that will help in the realization of the objective of growing the contribution of manufacturing to GDP from 8.5% to 15% by the year 2022.
