Moments before the 2025/2026 FY Budget Pronouncement for Nyeri County, CECM for Finance, Economic Planning and ICT, Robert Thuo, held a final briefing with his team ahead of the reading at the County Assembly on 1st July 2025.

He was joined by Director of Economic Planning Mathenge Mwai, who also serves as the Acting Chief Officer for Economic Planning; Principal Economist Chris Gathogo; and Economists Germano Wang’ombe, Ruth Kimiti, and Kelvin Kiruki.

Friends and colleagues of the late Mugambi Mwendia gathered this evening at Townhall grounds for a candle lighting vigil in his honor and remembrance.

Heartfelt tributes were heard at the emotional vigil where colleagues from various departments including the department that he was in; Department of Finance, Economic Planning and ICT, described a man who was devoted and reliable.

Mugambi was not only a dedicated colleague but also a kind and inspiring person who touched the lives of many. His presence will be truly missed, and his memory will always remain in our hearts.

He will be laid to rest tomorrow (Friday 6th June) at his home in Kerugoya, Kirinyaga County.

May his soul Rest in Eternal Peace. 🕊️
