Rebbe Nachman taught that we should make a spiritual accounting every day – this is one of the main aspects of hisbodidus. “For deeds done against G-d’s will, set aside a time every day to isolate yourself with a broken heart. Be heartbroken – but not depressed even during this hour. One should then be happy throughout the rest of the day” (Rabbi Nachman’s Wisdom #43).
✨
So what does this mean for us? Don't suppress- express! Take an hour of your day and feel what you need to feel, sit with your pain, your frustration, sit with what is going on in your life. Then, after you've honored yourself and the experience, throw it onto Hashem. This is something I'm currently working on and hoping to get better at in my life.

What are you sitting with?
These past few weeks I've been sitting with the energy of Shovavim. The Ari HaKadosh revealed that the days of Shovavim the weeks from Parashat Sh’mot to Parashat Mishpatim are a period auspicious for Teshuva and Tikkun.
🤍
The Ari HaKadosh explains that when we were in Egypt, the hard work was in order to lift up all the holy sparks, so to speak that fell in wrong places after the sin of Adam Harishon.
🔨
Through the hard work and suffering they lifted up most of it. We still need work on the rest of the fallen sparks and when they are all completely restored, Mashiach will come.
💎
I happen to be super sensitive to energy and those of people around me. I can sense how challenging these weeks have been amongst my friends and family. In a way, it reminds me that while I'm on my personal plight, I'm also involved in a national quest and it gives me strength.

An important message from yours truly.
🤍
Pablo Neruda writes,
“Absence is a house so vast that inside you will pass through its walls and hang pictures on the air.”
I've been sitting in a gallery for nearly three weeks. It's been an unknown territory for my mind, body, and soul. At the height of it all, I just keep humming Tehillim 121 to myself, knowing that even in this space where I can't feel Him, Hashem is with me.
Sending love to you all and strength. 🤍
Not long ago, there would sit a queen on her throne, entertaining all and providing wisdom for those who opened their hearts to it. Today, her thrown is empty, as is the light in my eyes.
My aunt was my person: we were alike in a myriad of ways. I hope with time I will share with you all, for now, I'm finding my grief is sitting in her place.
✨
I used to be fearful of grief. I would fear it for my life afraid it would consume me. But my dear friend, sister, Rebbetzin, lover, every possible title please insert here, @calanitpazcohen sent me something we both didn't know was going to be applicable.
🤍
@adamgrant explains that grief is unexpressed love and holding onto it is a way of staying close to the people who we’ve lost. Hashem truly orchestrated such a perfect mourning process for us to heal and remember.
🙏🏽
So this week, the week of miracles, I’m sitting with grief. What are you sitting with?
“Because true belonging only happens when we present our authentic, imperfect selves to the world, our sense of belonging can never be greater than our level of self-acceptance.”

For those of you new to the community, I always finish out an episode of my podcast by asking my guest the following question; what are you sitting with?
🛋
Sometimes, life requires us to take a minute, pause, and sit with things. Rather than reacting simply on impulse, I invite you to sit with all the feels and give yourself the space to sit with it.
🏓
It's from personal experience that I find when you sit with it, you're able to select your next move with purpose and succeed. So, what are you sitting with this week? Share in the comments below and see what others are doing in my stories!
Rebbe Nachman teaches that when “gratitude rejoices with her sister joy and is always ready to light a candle and have a party. Gratitude doesn't Mich like the old cronies of boredom, despair, and taking life for granted.”
🍯
When we start shifting our awareness and practicing gratitude towards our life, we will see joy!

Gratitude opens the heart and connects you with your soul. Can you see a practice that may lowly and intentionally bring awareness to your day-to-day moments? Share them in the comments!
Ever wonder why there is a tradition to wear white on YK? No, it's not because we are rule breakers and go against the status quo (although I always wore white after labor day, oops!) I used to think it was because I’m Latin but it is because, on Yom Kippur, we are like angels.
☁️
Tonight, we begin a process where we emulate malachim, angels, who have no physical needs and we return to the spiritual and pure essence of our souls.
🤍
The Mishnah states, “Never were there more joyous festivals in Israel than the 15th of Av and Yom Kippur, when the maiden's of Jerusalem used to go out dressed in white garments.”
✨
The deeper essence of why the women were dancing on Yom Kippur was because Hashem instilled the day with the energy of forgiveness. Come back my friends, to your original self and let go of the actions that don't embody you. Own it, express it Hashem and let it go.
✨
Gamar Chatima Tova my friends, may we all have a meaningful and uplifting fast and begin anew!
