Story of a 60 year old, Tom Ikonya who lost Sh700,000 in 7 days.
Tom Ikonya from Maragua decided to sell one of his assets worth Sh700,000 so as to welcome himself into the world of senior citizens. He then decides to take two for the road before head home only to be kissed and taken home by a lady.Spends -6,320 on beers.
He says there was a friend that he had bought beer for who attempted to warn him about the woman. But the woman overheard him ... she kissed me on the lips and I forgot the warning. After another kiss, I was following her outside the bar, to board a motorcycle and within 10 minutes, I was in her house watching TV. She lived alone," he says.
He won't reveal much about life inside that house "but it is safe to tell you that I bathed, ate and slept like a king".
The Woman shares that she wants to start a business costing -250,000 but advised him to withdraw 350,000 which he does. She then asks for 100,000 for hiring workers and paying Licenses.
The lady then asks for 50,000 for emergencies. On Monday 14/11 Ikonya decided to withdraw all his money to avoid visiting the ATM.
On Tuesday they go back to the bar and Ikonya gets his ATM back and a bag of his clothes. Her phone goes off. With a bar bill of 3,100 he heads to ATM only to find a balance of Sh8.78.
Mr. Ikonya gets mugged outside the bar and goes to Maragua Police station to report he has lost all his money.
He advises any man who has unbudgeted cash to avoid "bars, lodgings, women not related to you and men who pretend to be nice and to be found in bars".
