Happy Mazingira Day to all. As we mark this day by planting trees, let us remember to care for those we have already planted. Let us aim to grow our trees and see them to maturity, and not simply let them die.

It is a very big environment, let us also remember to clean up, reduce our food waste, try hard to eat the foods that are in season, avoid overconsumption, and most of all be mindful of our surrounding.

As we continue to receive high amounts of rainfall, let us all work together to reduce the adverse effects. Dumping of trash into drains results in blockage of drains and culverts, making a bad situation far much worse. Do your part and dispose of trash correctly.
Let us also be responsible as this affects us the most.

Did you know that FORESTS ARE HOME TO OVER 80% OF THE WORLD'S LAND-BASED SPECIES OF ANIMALS, PLANTS AND INSECTS?

Continued loss of forest cover also results in loss of biodiversity and other essential parts of our world some small, and some far reaching like the loss of an entire lake, as posted below.

When you visit lake Olbolossat you are met with Herders and their livestock trying to get some food, and water for their animals. As their main source for both, is gone.

Education is power. Today we joined Motosiet Avocado Farmers Group for education on tree growing and agroforestry.

Joined by the esteemed partnersfrom , and . Tree growing is aimed at improving yield, economic empowerment and reversal of climate change effects.

As we go into the new year, may we appreciate all that we have been able to achieve this year (which has been tremendous). In our first year of official existence, we have been able to do a lot more than we ever thought imaginable. May we cherish the partnership and friendships made, and look forward to more, bigger and betterm

May we also carry the lessons learnt. Learning to let go of what we can't have and embrace those in our basket.
