Ezekiel Immo is a poet and a writer, born in Eldoret, Kenya, in the early 2000s. He went to Kakamega School and is currently a student at Uzima University pursuing BSc. Nursing. His greatest motivator in writing is the late Chinua Achebe and the society at large. He has participated in coming up with anthologies of poems like Stars And Scars (published in 2019) Shackles Of Pain (published in 2020) Black Lives Matter (published in 2020), I Still Wait My Dawn (published in 2021), Twisted Waves (published in 2022). His has also published his work Tim And The Witch (published in 2022) and Remember (published in 2022). His poetry has been featured in sites like World Of Dreams Poetry and The Writers Pen.
His dream is to be a great fiction writer and poet.

Why Books Are Clearly Better Than your Mpoa😅😅😅 (Number 10 is my best)

1. Books won't fight over the remote.
2. Books won't judge your choice of music.
3. Books won't leave the toilet seat up.
4. Books won't leave 30 missed calls and 100 messages when you're busy
5. A bad date with a book is easily remedied with a good bookmark.
6. Books can take you to faraway lands, while relationships might just involve arguing over where to go for a date.
7. Books won't pressure you to get married or have kids.
8. You can return a book if you're not happy with the ending, but relationships...well, those can be trickier.
9. Books won't drain your bank account.
10. Books will never ask for 2k urgently

My wife comes home crying

• Theme
Social Issues: Address important social and cultural topics, such as discrimination, inequality, or environmental concerns, through your characters and narratives.

• Eligibility
The anthology is open exclusively to writers with African heritage. An African writer is defined as an individual who was born in Africa, has at least one African parent, or currently resides in Africa and has done so for a minimum of ten years. This definition also includes individuals of African descent living outside the continent.

• Length
Poems should be a maximum of 30 lines.

• Language
Submissions must be in English.

• Multiple Submissions
You may submit up to three poems.

• Original Work
All poems must be original and must not have been previously published in full or in part. Published work includes any form of public accessibility, whether electronic or printed, such as anthologies, magazines, newspapers, blogs, websites, including personal blogs/websites.

• Deadline for Submissions: 15th October, 2023

• What's in it for you?
- Selected poets will have their work featured in our upcoming poetry anthology.
- You will receive a copy of the book, with your bio and contact information included.
- You will receive a certificate of participation
- We shall NOT pay the author royalties. Proceeds of the anthology shall be used to award publishing grants to upcoming authors who will qualify for our future calls of submission.
