Wajir County Women Representative, Hon. Fatuma Jehow, joined forces with the Chairperson of Kenya Women Parliamentary Association (KEWOPA), Hon. Leah Sankare, to host a transformative Two-Third Mashinani Community Forum. Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi Breaks Ground for Modern Accident and Emergency Unit at Wajir County Referral Hospital.

Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi, took a significant step towards improving healthcare services in the region as he led the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a new, modern Accident and Emergency Unit at the Wajir County Referral Hospital. The project aims to enhance the hospital's capabilities and upgrade it to a Level 5 facility, setting a precedent for other counties in the country.

The ground floor of the complex facility will house the Outpatient department, consultation rooms, an ECG (electrocardiogram) room, a pharmacy, and a mini lab laboratory. These amenities will enable efficient outpatient services and diagnostic procedures. The first floor will feature a 24-bed male ward, a 24-bed female ward, private rooms, and a CCTV room, ensuring comfortable and specialized care for patients. On the second floor, a High Dependency Unit (HDU), an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and operating theaters will be established to provide critical care services and perform life-saving surgeries.

The rooftop floor will accommodate a purification water plant capable of processing 2,000 liters per hour, ensuring a constant supply of clean water for the hospital's needs. The Accident Emergency area will include an isolation room, a triage area, and 12 beds specifically designated for emergency cases. Additionally, a Central Sterile Service Department (CSSD) room will be present to facilitate efficient sterilization processes.

Hon Ahmed Boray accompanied by elders and religious leaders have organized direct peace and reconciliation talks between the Degodia and Borana communities. Life's have been lost in the intercommunal clashes that resurfaced between the boarder of wajir County and marsabit. Many people have been affected, displaced and living in hiding and properties lost. In many consultative forums, most of this people are ready to reconcile and we call on the leaders to give room for peace and dialogue so that we can move forward. The problem is that all previous resolutions have not been implemented, stolen cattle have not been returned; as such people take the law into their own hands.
