, an invasive w**d commonly known as 'olbenenyio' in KiMaasai, covering a considerable portion of community land due to animal movements, wind dispersal, and surface runoff during the wet season. This has greatly affected the community's pastoralism as the plant is toxic to livestock and invades pasture lands. Additionally, it has impacted apiculture by reducing the quality of honey and other bee products. Eradicating this toxic w**d is challenging due to its deep 6-foot roots. It is hoped that a combination of scientific and indigenous knowledge can be to combat its detrimental effects on livelihoods in the near future.
