It’s free, it only takes a minute and it means so much to them. They are the heart of our community, and the ones that always donate to my duck hunts and giveaways. Amazon has never sent me anything to give away!

Bezos doesn’t need any more money, and yes it’s great for us to save money on the every day items that we use, BUT it’s also great to shine some light on small businesses during such a big week of Amazon consumption!

While we are still finishing some plans behind the scenes, we are getting a lot of inquires about how to get involved in this year’s hunt. Here are a few answers to help:

1. We will have sign up forms for volunteers, sponsors, and businesses who want to donate a prize. This will keep everything more organized for us. (Last year we communicated through Instagram, Facebook and email and it was too hard to keep track of everyone)

2. It will be impossible to try to contact everyone who wants to be notified. We’ve done our best to make lists but this hunt has gotten so big so fast, we won’t be able to hunt people down to participate. It is recommended that you turn on notifications so you don’t miss the posts!

3. There has been quite a few suggestions from local moms on how they can donate without having a business. They would just like to contribute. We are grateful for those who are in a position to help but it is not a requirement to participate. We have come up with an idea for those who’d like to chip in. It will go right to purchasing more ducks. The more ducks, the more people can play and enjoy!

4. The ultimate goal is 2000 ducks! Full transparency, we cannot fully expense that from our little family but we want to be able to give more people a chance at playing and finding a duck! Getting to this goal will be achieved through our sponsors and businesses who’d like to donate. Last year 1 in 5 ducks were a winner. We would love to keep this ratio or improve it which means 400 prizes 🤯 it’s a big goal but we think we can do it!

5. We will be sticking to Durham Region. We tried testing two regions for our February hunt but logistically it was too hard and complicated. That is exactly why we tried it for a smaller hunt so we knew!

While we tie up loose ends getting ready to launch, we are excited to see the hype around this event and how much it has grown in just one year! Thank you so much for all your support!

Free Egg Hunts this Sunday March 31st 🐰
