We Are Celebrating The
World Day Of The Boy Child

Theme:
Boosting optimism, restoring self-worth.

WDBC was inaugurated in 2018 and this year will be observed in 24 countries.

Our boys reflect our heritage and serve as one of the links to the past and the present that intersects with the future of our families, communities and world.

WDBC serves as a platform for individuals, organizations, and institutions to improve the manner in which we protect our boys and reclaim our heritage.

How? Global coordinators for WDBC are offering a few suggestions:

• Facilitate and moderate sessions for boys and adolescent males to engage in a straight-no chaser dialogue to express to key stakeholders what they need and want to safely and successfully navigate the arduous journey from boyhood to manhood.

The key stakeholders with whom boys and adolescent young males would engage in discussions include educators, school administrators, law enforcement professionals, legal professionals, health care professionals and providers, social services professionals and providers, parents, legislators, business leaders, and Fatherhood and Men’s Issues advocates and practitioners.

• Identify and support existing initiatives which have a successful track record of addressing and helping to eradicate the;

a) academic underperformance of boys and adolescent males and their mischaracterization as being “unteachable”, “intellectually challenged”, and “behavior problems”

b) rising incidence of depression and su***de among boys and adolescent males.

c) recruitment and utilization of boys and adolescent males as child soldiers.

d) underlying causes of poverty which lead to boys and adolescent males working full-time to support their families and not attending school.

e) literacy gap for boys and adolescent males.

f) lack of legitimate real-life options and absence of positive male role models.

• Employ male educators and administrators in schools located in communities that have Fatherless households or households devoid of a dominant male presence.

When we think of gender equality, we immediately start to think of protecting and promoting women’s rights. This immediate thought in itself reflects the inequality of gender in our thoughts and beliefs.

Women have historically suffered from subordination of men. They have been restricted to lead their lives on their own terms. The women today are fighting this centuries old grievance, with the help of governments, system, institutions and society. In this path of feminism, people often forget the sight of what they were fighting for in the first place, i.e. gender equality.

November 19th is celebrated as International Men’s Day globally. The day is aimed at recognizing the contribution of men in bringing positive value to the world, their families and communities. The theme of the International Men’s Day 2021 is “Better relations between men and women.”

Often the cases have come into highlight where women appear to be harassed, they utilize the means they have to expose their exploiters, their exploiters are tried and convicted by the media and society, and later it turns out that it was the women who were in the wrong.

SPEAK MY MIND TO HEALTH.KNOW YOUR MIND.

What is a mental illness or disorder??🤷🏾‍♂️

Mental Health may have a positive impact on everyday life, relationships, and physical health. This relation, however, also works in the opposite direction.

🟢 MEN - tal Illness - collectively refers to all diagnosable mental disorders — characterized by alterations in thinking, mood, or behaviors associated with distress or impaired functioning.

🟢 Mental health issues can be caused by a variety of factors, including personal circumstances, interpersonal relationships, and physical factors. Taking care of one's mental wellbeing will improve one's ability to enjoy life.

🟢 To do so, you must strike a balance between your daily activities, obligations, and efforts to improve your psychological resilience. Some mental health illnesses such as stress, depression, and anxiety may all have an effect on a person's mental health and disturb their daily routine.

🟢 If you have mental health issues, your thoughts, attitude, and actions will be influenced over the course of your life. Many causes play a role in mental illness, which include:

📌Biological factors and brain chemistry are examples of biological causes.
📌Trauma or violence are examples of life experiences.
📌 *FACT* - Mental disorders can also run in the family.

🟢 A mental illness can make you unhappy and create difficulties in your everyday life, such as at school, work, or in relationships. Symptoms will usually be treated by a combination of medications and talk therapy (psychotherapy).
