There have been reports of people receiving suspicious messages from unknown numbers claiming to be from authorities. These could be phishing scams trying to steal your personal information.

Here are some red flags to watch out for:

1. Suspicious sender info (double-check phone numbers & email addresses!)
2. Urgent or threatening language ("Your account will be suspended!")
3. Generic greetings ("Dear Customer" instead of your name?)
4. Requests for sensitive info (banks & authorities won't ask via text!)
5. Dodgy links & attachments (don't click or download!)

For months now, there has been a lot of information circulating online, connected to the legalization and/or criminalization of same-sex marriages in Kenya. We go back to one of the events that led to this - the Supreme Court's ruling in February 2023.
Claims that this ruling, as alleged by many, legalized same-sex marriages in Kenya, are FALSE.
Before resharing false information, STOP, REFLECT, VERIFY.

There has been a lot of progress in the protection of children online. Through these efforts, Kenya recently adopted the Children Act 2022 and the National Plan of Action to Tackle Online Child Exploitation and Abuse.
