Age, because men live longer when married to younger wives. Please research it. Don't just take my word or insult me because of a medical fact. Finances, because, as a man, you either foot the bill or go downhill. Knowledge, prayer and fasting because you are the priest of the home. Strength, since you are the head of the home, and will have to do the heavy lifting. Tolerance because her mouth will likely be sharper than yours, and without tolerance, there will be violence. Planning and wisdom, so you don't wear out your strength. And finally, patience so you don't do everything your mind tells you to do.
The reason Michael Jackson's albums were so phenomenally successful is because he perfected the strategy of using absence to build anticipation. He would stay out of the public eye for years. No interviews, no tours, no sightings. Then when the anticipation has reached fever pitch, boom, he releases an album! When you notice that people start taking you for granted and disrespecting you, it is likely because you have made yourself too present for them. Napoleon Bonaparte said, "If I am often seen at the theatre, people will cease to notice me". Use absence more than you use presence. Long time no see is better than 'Oh, it's you again'. Be conscious of where you go. People treat friends and family like they treat money. The more they see money, the less they value it. The less they see moolah, the more they value it!

A student once walked into a classroom and an equation written on the board immediately caught his eye. He got to work and promptly solved the problem in minutes.
What he didn't know was that during the previous lecture, the professor had informed his classmates that the equation was so complex that even Einstein could not solve it in his lifetime.
Several students - some of whom were considered more intelligent than him - had worked for several hours to try to solve the problem and failed.
What was the difference between the young man and the rest? Information. His peers were told the problem was impossible. They received that information as truth and consequently the problem BECAME impossible to them, regardless of the amount of energy exerted.
Why do you believe what you believe? What is the source of your information? The world system, or the word of God?
Through the media and life's experiences we are constantly being bombarded with information that is contrary to the word: cancer is incurable; you can't buy a house without a mortgage; marriage usually ends in divorce...
A mind that is passive will simply soak up these 'facts' and allow them to frame the outcomes of life.
Be active in your thinking. Hold every information up to the scrutiny of God's word.
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. (Proverbs 4:23 NLT)
I went to visit a friend in the hospital. As I was walking towards his room, a dead body was being wheeled out. I looked at the dead body, all the features were intact. A handsome young man looking peaceful in death.
Such experiences humble me. They take away any pride or ego I have. It tells me to slow down, not get puffed up. It reminds me it is all for a while.
But soon I forget. I let the world get to my peace. I let the strife get to me. I get worked up. I chase vanities. I let go of myself. before I remember again.
Certainly even though we are conscious of dying it should not reduce the urge to live and leave a mark.
The key word is balance. Eyes on a legacy and a remembrance that we are dust!

The painting may look perverse but the story behind is from historical records.
The poor man was sentenced to "death by starvation" for stealing a loaf of bread during the reign of Louis XIV in France.
The woman was his only daughter and the only visitor to his cell. She was allowed to visit him daily but was frisked thoroughly such that no food was taken in.
When after 4 months the man still survived with no weight loss, the authorities were perplexed and started spying on her in the cell and to their utter astonishment found her to breastfeed her father to the fullest sharing her baby's milk.
The judges then realizing the compassion and love of the woman for her father, pardoned the father and set him free.
This piece of history brings into focus how deep is a woman's compassion in our daily lives that men often tend to overlook.

Lt. Colonel Damaris Apondi Agnetta makes history as the first Luo to stand behind a serving president as a deputy ADC since independence and the second woman after Lieutenant-Colonel Rachel Nduta Kamui.
Damaris was born on 13th March 1983 and joined Kenya Defence Forces in 2003 as a Cadet Officer after graduating with a degree . She is a member of the Kenya Army, and is from the Artillery unit and at a point was assigned as KDF records officer.
Agnetta has also served in United Nations Military Observer Mission among other several military assignments within and outside the country. She is a loving mother of two. She hails from Suba in Homa Bay County.
