After what has been seven years in the making, Nairobi's metalcore group Last Year's Tragedy finally announced that they would release their first full-length album in 2021. Following from their 2013 EP, the new album dubbed Amongst Lions is an 11 track mammoth that seeks to galvanize fans of their older material while still forging new ground. I guess the answer to that is that it depends. I had a very troubled youth. I have been battling rage and seeking acceptance for the longest time. I was desperate and looking for an outlet. Rock music became the perfect crucible. I was surprised to find people that didn't judge me for entertaining dark thoughts. The music by a long shot felt like a balm to my wounds. [ 702 more words ]

The idea stuck and 10 years later here we are. Funnier still none of the guys could play any instrument when we started....

Phyv5 is a five piece alternative rock band out of Kampala, Uganda. Balaam the oldest member of the band is on the bass and also does vocals and will do anything and everything for the band.
