An analysis of annual reports by the EACC shows Assets worth Ksh 31.5 billion have been forfeited to the state in the last 6 years on account of being acquired corruptly.

This came from the assets of hundreds of individuals including President William Ruto, Daniel Arap Moi, Nyaribari Chache MP Zaheer Jhanda and catholic nuns.

The report indicates that a number of suits filed for recovery of assets acquired corruptly have seen the agency net land, buildings, cars, cash and other properties which were either stolen from public institutions, or acquired using graft proceeds.
