Samburu County Government conducted public participation sessions for County Finance Bill 2023 in Baragoi, Samburu North sub county. The public participation brought together participants from Elbarta, Ndoto, Nyiro and Nachola wards.

Also present were Chief Officer revenue and resource mobilization Daniel Leleina,Samburu County Budget and Economic Forum (CBEF) members,county administrators,senior county government officials and other stakeholders.

Samburu County’s children office in partnership with UNICEF has donated food and items to secondary school girls being accommodated at Suguta Marmar Mary immaculate rescue center after they were rescued from early marriages and FGM in the past years.
Director of children services in Samburu county Jane Kabiro said that girls at the facility were lacking basic commodities such as sanitary towels, soaps and tissue papers among so many basic needs.
“and since the institution is a non-income generating institution, we as a well-wishers mandated by government to protect children we came with this donations courtesy of Unicef,” she said.
The director of children services asked well-wishers and other organization to support vulnerable children whose parents have been affected by drought.
Sister Theras Pauline Wanjiru, Sister in charge of the rescue center said the aid will enable the girls go back to their schools this week for a new term.
Sister Wanjiru thanked all those people including Samburu county deputy governor Julius Leseeto who have been listening to their cry and have come out to help with generosity.
