Heart disease is the number one killer disease across the world. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), you are likely to have heart disease if you are suffering from high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, and if you engage in unhealthy behaviors such as eating unhealthy foods, smoking, excessive use of alcohol, and failure to engage in physical exercise.

Therefore, to reduce the risk of heart disease, ensure you eat healthy foods, maintain a healthy weight, engage in regular physical exercise, and most importantly don't smoke.

🚨 Arrest of a Sim Swap Fraudster

The DCI in Thika have arrested Emmanuel Kiprono, a notorious sim swap fraudster.
Kiprono was arrested on the act at a Safaricom shop while seeking for sim replacement services using a forged ID waiting card and a police abstract form.

On their X handle, the DCI indicated that upon further interrogation, the suspect led the detectives to a house in Zimmerman, Nairobi, where other crucial pieces of evidence were recovered.

Through their East Africa's Pamoja Bid, Kenya Uganda, and Tanzania have won the rights to host Africa Cup of Nations' 36th edition which will be held in 2027.

🚨Call for Peaceful Demonstrations🚨

The Kenya University Student's Association (KUSO) has released a notice to all comrades (University Students) informing them of planned peaceful demonstrations on the 29th September, 2023.

These demonstrations are being called for as a result of the delayed release of HELB loans. In their statement, KUSO indicates that the demonstrations will start at Nairobi CBD and proceed to the HELB headquarters in Anniversary Towers.

As a show of solidarity, the student body indicates that no activity will take place in all universities across the country on the planned day of demonstrations.

The DCI have arrested the prime suspect in the murder of slain Nairobi Hospital Finance Director Eric Maigo.

In a statement released on their handle on X, the DCI indicated that the 16-year-old suspect was arrested last night at the Olympic Village in Kibera slums. Following interrogation at the DCI headquarters, the suspect was booked at the Muthaiga Police Station.

Maigo’s lifeless body was found in a pool of blood on September 15, with 25 stab wounds. The motive of this murder is yet to be established.

Yesterday, the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC), released three penalty notices, following the failure of three data controllers to observe their clients' data privacy rights and not complying with the Data Protection Act of 2019.

Among the fined establishments was Casa Vera Lounge, located along Ngong Road in Nairobi. The lounge was fined 1.85 Million for posting their customers' images on social media platforms without their consent.

Following this release, various clubs and restaurants across the country have started releasing notices to inform their potential clients that by entering into their premises they consent to being photographed and even their images being used for marketing purposes without pay.

🔹Proposal for a change in the election date🔸:

In their presentation before the National Dialogue Committee, the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) proposed the adoption of a two-day general election. On the first day, Kenyans will elect the president and the second day will be for other elective positions.

According to the LSK this proposed change will allow presidential candidates who unsuccessfully run for office to seek for other elective positions.
