Hon Soipan Tuya CS Defence this morning joined, by the National Security Advisor to the President, Ambassador, Dr. Monica Juma, the UN Women Country Rep, Ms Anna Mutavati, the Director, International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC), various Women Defence Attaches and women officers from different Kenyan security forces (KDF, KFS, NPS, KWS & NYS), during the opening of the Women in Security Sector Conference at the IPSTC in Karen.

The conference, marking 24 years since the adoption of UN Resolution 1325 on women, peace, and security, provides a platform for women to reflect on the progress made in advancing inclusivity in the security sector.

Women in the security sector have made remarkable strides, breaking barriers and demonstrating exceptional leadership, paving the way for future generations.

As we celebrate trailblazers, we know, it can only get better.

This afternoon, at the Zebu Hotel, H E Patrick Keturet Ole Ntutu officially assumed the role of Patron of the Purko Development Trust during the Handing Over Ceremony. HE will be deputized by Narok North MP, Hon. Agnes Maintaine Pareiyo.

President Samia Suluhu has sent her representatives (the Minister of Constitutional and Legal Affairs and the Minister of Lands).

The agreed-upon issues include the restoration of regular voting procedures, the resumption of community services, and the freedom for locals to use their vehicles, particularly for returning.

However, President Samia Suluhu has not lifted the order to dissolve 24 villages in the Ngorongoro region.

This morning, Narok County Governor H. E Patrick Keturet Ole Ntutu had the pleasure of welcoming H.E. Sultan Hjiyev, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan, to his office in Narok Town for a courtesy call.

Narok County has the privilege of hosting a significant number of Azerbaijani citizens as tourists.

During their discussions, He urged the Ambassador, who represents the people of Azerbaijan in the Republic of Kenya, to explore areas of mutual cooperation with Narok County.

They particularly focused on climate change, given that Azerbaijan will be hosting the COP29 Conference of Parties on Climate Change in Baku this coming November. They also identified opportunities for collaboration in agriculture, tourism, and healthcare.
