There are no words that I can say that would make any of this make sense, except that God is in control and he knows best. Rest in peace to my wonderful father. For the years we’ve reconnected, I am so thankful to God for bringing us back, and for all the love and support you poured into me and my daughter these last few years. I am so thankful for you and for all you did. I’ll carry our memories forever. Rest now Dad.

Happy (late) Mashujaa Day from my Shujaa and I ❤️
One thing I’ll do, is take my daughter to work whenever there’s something she can come for. I am continuing the tradition that my mum started because I have taken her to work FOR MY WHOLE LIFE!
Also, these memories of her childhood they’re also memories for me of my motherhood journey. And I want all the memories.
Take your kids to the functions that you can, take them to the office once in a while. Change the culture and change the stories around working and motherhood. Not just for you, but future generations of mothers too.

ABOUT KIMBERLEY CHAMPAGNE

Kimberley Champagne is a professional performing violinist based in Nairobi Kenya. She has over 11 years of violin experience and has performed at multiple high level functions at both ensemble and solo level.

She has performed at some of the top hotels in the country such as Villa Rosa Kempinski and Campi Ya Kanzi. She has also featured in Sauti Sols hit song “Nerea” and has been featured on multiple television and newspaper interviews.

Other than her violin expertise, she is a passionate humanitarian, founder of the organization Kaleidoscope Kenya that helps children in low income areas get access to educational materials, water and sanitation materials and mentorship.

She is also the founder of the Women With Grace Ministry that encourages millenial women of faith to come together as a community and live their lives for Jesus.
