Tour du Rwanda 2026: Africa’s Premier Cycling Stage Race

The 2026 international cycling calendar is quickly taking shape. Following the official announcement of the Tour du Rwanda 2026 route, the participating teams have now been unveiled.

Once again, Kenya is missing from Africa’s continental premier cycling event — a UCI 2.1 stage race happening right next door. This race remains one of the most important platforms on the continent, offering riders a chance to sharpen their skills, gain exposure, and compete at the highest level in Africa.

As neighboring nations line up their national teams, the absence of Kenyan representation raises serious questions about talent development, support structures, and long-term vision for Kenyan road cycling.

Opportunities like this do not come often — and when they do, they must be seized.
