Captured by Psymon Says these photos highlight the unity and respect shared during our tribute at ABSA Grounds. The turnout showed how deeply Otuoma touched us all, bringing together football stakeholders and fans (WADAU).

On Sunday, we converged at ABSA Grounds for a special event dedicated to our friend, Ezekiel Otuoma. It was a day filled with camaraderie, football and generosity as we joined other stakeholders(Wadau) to play and fundraise for Otuoma. The turnout was incredible, with friends, family and well-wishers coming together to support this noble cause.

ABSA Grounds, located along Thika SuperHighway near KCA University, next to Utalii Grounds and opposite Stima Club, served as the perfect venue for this heartfelt gathering. The atmosphere was electric, and the unity among everyone present was palpable.

The Rooftop Sports Club family once again demonstrated its unwavering support and solidarity. We did it for our boy Otuoma, showing that when we come together, we can achieve great things.

In a heartfelt announcement, George G. Gichaba famously known as Jijo Boy, one of Rooftop Sports Club's finest talents, has officially hung up his boots and parted ways with the team. His departure marks the end of an extraordinary chapter in the club's history, leaving behind a legacy of brilliance, discipline, and unmatched contributions both on and off the pitch.

Known for his lethal finishing and playmaking genius, Jijo Boy scored an impressive 7 goals and provided a staggering 13 assists during his time with the club. His performances were not only pivotal in countless matches but also won him several Man of the Match awards, cementing his status as a fan favourite and a dependable force in the squad.

What set Jijo apart, however, was his unwavering discipline. In an era where aggressive tackles and heated exchanges are commonplace, he maintained an impeccable record, never receiving a yellow or red card throughout his career. His exemplary conduct both on and off the pitch served as an inspiration to teammates and young players alike.

Speaking about his decision, Jijo expressed deep gratitude to the club, fans, and teammates:

From all of us at Rooftop Sports Club, we join the Kenyan football community in mourning the loss of Ezekiel Otuoma, fondly remembered as "Rooney."

A dynamic forward who graced teams like Muhoroni Youth, Ulinzi Stars, AFC Leopards, FC Talanta, Ushuru FC and Western Stima, Otuoma was a beacon of talent, dedication, and love for the game.

Even as he bravely battled motor neurone disease, "Rooney" remained an inspiration to us all, showing unparalleled courage and an unbreakable spirit. His journey reminds us of the strength and resilience that football instils both on and off the field.

Our hearts go out to his family, friends and all who were blessed to know him. The beautiful game has lost a legend, but his legacy will live on forever.
