WHY "KASONGO" WAS COMPOSED.

His real name was Kasongo wa Kanema, died 2 years ago and buried at Lang'ata Cemetery.....

“Kasongo” has been trending but few know the story behind the song.
"Kasongo" was done by the band Super Mazembe, a congolese band that moved to Kenya in 1974. The band members had gone to visit their friend Kasongo in Eastleigh, Nairobi.

On reaching his house, they met Kasongo’s wife and they asked her if he was at home.
Kasongo’s wife welcomed them and told them that she had not seen Kasongo for days.

Back then, there was no internet and it was rare to find someone who owned a phone. They decided to send him a message through music, hoping it would reach him.

The Super Mazembe members started creating a song for Kasongo in his living room, telling him to come home because his wife is worried and she’s looking for him but can’t find him.

They went on to record the song and, as they say, the rest is history.

The Nuer, also known as the Naath people, are one of the largest ethnic groups in South Sudan and northeastern Africa. Stretching over 2,000 kilometers from Egypt and extending 1,500 kilometers westward from the Red Sea, the Nuer are primarily found in the expansive grasslands and swamps along the Nile River and its tributaries in South Sudan. With a population of over 3.9 million, they are known for being one of the tallest ethnic groups in the world, with an average height of 7.3 feet. Their culture is deeply rooted in egalitarianism, where social order is maintained through communal values, cultural traditions, and a strong lineage system.

Historically, the Nuer had powerful kingdoms and are recognized for their advanced technological skills. They are also believed to be the ancestral descendants of Pharaoh Tutankhamun of ancient Egypt. Aside from South Sudan, the Nuer people are also found in Ethiopia and other parts of Africa.

The tallest recorded South Sudanese person is Malith Dak, a member of the Nuer, who stands at 7.9 feet tall. This analysis focuses on the Nuer's belief systems, marriage practices, and their unique lineage and cultural traditions.
