President William Ruto today launched the Mau Forest Complex Integrated Conservation and Livelihood Improvement Programme in Nakuru County.
The initiative marks the beginning of a nationwide effort to restore the Mau Forest Complex, a key step toward the government’s ambitious goal of planting 15 billion trees over the next decade.
Once fully restored, the 33,000-hectare Mau Forest Complex is expected to rejuvenate river water levels, enhance food security, and sustain the livelihoods of more than five million people in Nakuru County and across the country.
