The promulgation of Kenya’s new constitution in 2010 ushered in a new dispensation, with devolution and the creation of County governments being a key aspect of the new dispensation. The recently concluded general elections, the first under the new constitution saw the election of County Governors to run the County governments. The creation of Counties and their respective governments creates new

and exciting opportunities for economic and social development for Kenya. In order to reap the potential benefits of devolution and the new County system, it is imperative that Kenyans get to know much more about the various Counties, their respective leaders, the economic opportunities available as well as socio-cultural issues of respective Counties. The governor magazine seeks to address the information need mentioned above. This magazine which will be circulated nationally will feature in each of its monthly edition, a specific County.
