The family of the late Amos, who died following a botched tooth extraction by a fake dentist in Kawangware near Green Farm, is in deep mourning as funeral arrangements continue at his rural home in Keiyo, Kwanza Constituency, Trans Nzoia County.
Amos’ tragic death has sparked public outrage and renewed concern over the growing number of unlicensed medical facilities operating in informal settlements. According to the family, he sought treatment for a simple dental problem, only to be handled by an individual later discovered to have no medical training or legal certification.
What was meant to be a routine procedure turned into a nightmare, leaving Amos in severe pain and complications that eventually claimed his life. The suspect behind the illegal practice is still at large, heightening the family’s anguish as they struggle to come to terms with their loss.
Attention has now turned to the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC), which is facing criticism over alleged regulatory failure. Residents and civil society groups are questioning how an unlicensed clinic could operate openly without detection, putting lives at risk.
As the family prepares to lay Amos to rest, they are demanding justice and accountability. They are calling on authorities to track down the suspect and ensure that those responsible for oversight act decisively to prevent similar tragedies.
Community members in Kawangware are also urging the government to conduct a thorough audit of all health facilities in the area, warning that more lives could be lost if illegal practitioners continue to operate unchecked. Follow Us On Instagram, Link On Bio 👌
