Migori mob kills police officer for intercepting bhang.

A police officer has died after a mob
attacked him for intercepting bhang at
Kaler area in Nyatike Sub-County.
The police officer, who was on night duty with his colleague, had intercepted a boda-boda that was carrying bhang at around
9pm on Saturday night.

According to Migori police commander
Mark Wanjala, the boda-boda rider raised an alarm after he was intercepted
attracting a crowd that descended on the officer.
The boda-boda man had a motorbike
which was carrying bhang and they. arrested him. One person raised the alarm and the community came to his rescue," Mr. Wanjala said.
Wanjala said the mob physically assaulted the officer with machetes, cut him several times on the head before stabbing him.
Attempts by his colleague to fire his gun to
scare the mob bore no fruits at the crowd ramained adamant.

He managed to escape unhurt.

The police officer stationed at Kaler patrol base was rushed to Ombo Mission Hospital in Migori town where he succumbed to his injuries.
"We have launched our investigations into the matter," Wanjala said

POLICE: Why Maseno student was killed.

Police in Kisumu County have explained what led to the death of a 3rd year University student in Maseno during Monday's anti-government protests.
According to the police, William Mayange, the deceased, was among a group of students who had joined the Azimio protests which later turned chaotic and violent after they invaded a supermarket in Maseno town.
The officers were overpowered by the students, running out of tear gas canisters, as a result, police opted to use live bullets to repulse the students who had allegedly invaded the supermarket, police say.

This, led to the student being shot in the neck, and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Coptic hospital where he had been rushed.

Police report indicate at least 6 of their officers were also injured during the Monday demos in Maseno where the students had lit bonfires and barricaded the busy Kisumu - Busia highway before they began hurling stones at security officers

Arriving at the door,the customer identified as Mwangi asked the BodaBoda driver to drive him to his home so he could take some money and pay as his phone was off and he had no money on him.

ABSENTEEISM CAUSED KAMENE GORO HER JOB

The cause of Kamene Goro's exit from KISS FM has been revealed; regular absenteeism with insubstantial excuses and a consistent decline in the rating of the KISS FM Breakfast Show.

According to Radio Africa's management, Kamene who was reportedly earning over half-a-million shillings, was not showing efforts to either improve on her show or put to an end her regular absenteeism.

"Kamene made a regular habit of not showing up to work, and she could give all manner of excuses most of the time, saying she was sick, and later she would upload photos and videos on social media of someone in a totally different situation," a source revealed, (as quoted by Nairobi News).

Kamene skipping her shows went on for a while before a disciplinary hearing was set up, revealing finer details.

"Colleagues she closely worked with said she would text them an hour to the start of her show at 5AM, saying she won't make it to work and request someone to step in for her," the source added.
On the show rating, the numbers started declining, leading to it not attracting lucrative adverts from corporates, given the salary Kamene was taking home.

"The ratings had dipped over time compared to when she first joined the station and hence the show wasn't attracting advertisement and based on her huge salary, it was deemed fit to let her contract run out and hire someone else”

She will be presenting her last show at the station tomorrow, 27 Jan, and her spot will be taken by Kwambox who quit Standard Group's Vybze Radio to join Radio Africa.

The BBC has apologised after an audio clip of a woman moaning [while having a good time in bed] was broadcast during its coverage of the Liverpool - Wolves FA Cup match.

The tractor was registered under James Finlay Tea Company in Kericho.
The boy was inside the tea bushes where the machine was operating at.
His head was chopped off and slashed into pieces by the fast moving blades of the harvesting machines.

CONS OPERATING FAKE JUMIA ACCOUNTS ARRESTED

Three notorious thugs were arrested over the weekend for obtaining money from unsuspecting members of the public, by operating fictitious online platforms purporting to sell goods.

Dickson Magembe, Dionicious Omonyi and Derrick Kodek were arrested in a swoop by detectives from the elite Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau, following numerous complaints received from the public via the DCI Facebook and Twitter platforms.

The trio are believed to have obtained millions of shillings from unsuspecting shoppers, by operating fake accounts imitating popular JUMIA online stores.

Through a fake page ‘Jumia Shopping’ the three ran a promotion over the Christmas & New Year period offering discounts of upto 40% for various household goods, attracting unsuspecting shoppers in droves.

An MPESA Till number where cash deposits would be made before delivery of goods was provided and upon successful payment, an invoice would be sent via WhatsApp promising free delivery within 24 hours.

That would mark the end of the correspondence as the eager clients would be blocked henceforth, leaving them disappointed and with heavy loses to bear.

This happened to a victim in Mukothima, Tharaka North Sub County, who made a payment of Sh 95,000 for a 7 seater recliner seat and a coffee table.

This is after an offer was made on the fake page announcing a 40% discount on recliner seats and other household items.

Tens of other Kenyans who found the deals too good to think twice fell for the trap hook line and sinker, after hurriedly making orders before getting thoroughly disappointed later.

A total of 22 SIM Cards used in the fraud were recovered from the first suspect a 3rd year student at Kisii University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

The suspect was arrested in Canaan area of Kisii town and later led detectives to his two other accomplices in Ruiru, Kiambu county. Meanwhile, the mastermind of the fraud identified as Swarzzenegar Otete, an Information Technology wizard is currently on the run with sleuths breathing down his neck before finally going for his jugular.

In a video that has since gone viral on the internet, the boda boda rider, perhaps accustomed to daredevil feats that convinced him of his own invisibility, attempts to motor his way across the turbulent waters to the other side of the bridge. And bridge he did cross; from this world to the next. His body has since been retrieved, says Transmara West Deputy sub-County Commissioner Mohamed Noor Hasan. It is being preserved at the Nyamache Hospital mortuary as the family continues with the burial preparations.

TWO TEACHERS NABBED IN SIAYA COUNTY FOR ASSAULTING A STANDARD EIGHT PUPIL. Police in Siaya have apprehended Maureen Otieno and Paul Osongo who are deployed at Nyaminia Primary school. The duo are accused for beating up Brian Ochido,a standard 8 pupil for performing lower than 400 marks that was the set target. URIRI-KABWANA AYEGO ROAD HAS BEEN A BLACKSPOT FOR A TIME NOW SAYS URIRI MOTORISTS Motorists in Uriri Constituency have requested any leader concerned to see and ensure that Uriri-kabwana Ayego road has been improved to make it safe for use . This follows after two people lost their lives after an accident on the road. A witness said that a car that was traveling to Rapogi at a speed had it’s tire burst making the driver to lose control of the vehicle which rammed into a motorcyclist who died on the spot. Speaking to Migori Pacho News, Moses a motorist at Uriri Confirmed that this was the fifth quick accident that has taken lives at the road which he said was of no doubt a blackspot. He went ahead and requested any concerned leader to intervene on the matter to ensure that the road is made safe for use. Peter Oluoch also a motorist,said that the road had very sharp corners, and because of the thick bushes, one could not know or see the other motorist on the other corner , a situation he said had led to many accidents.
