🌍✨ My trip to Moscow, Russia🇷🇺🇷🇺 was more than just a journey—it was a turning point in my life. For years, I’ve looked up to glaser through Braille Skateboarding, always inspired by his style, passion, and the way he pushes skateboarding culture forward. I never imagined that one day I’d go from being his biggest fan to actually meeting him face-to-face. 🙌

The experience of getting his signature, capturing memories in photos, and—most importantly—spending an entire week skating and learning alongside him was nothing short of surreal. 🛹🔥 What felt like a distant dream suddenly became my reality, and it’s an achievement I will carry with me forever.

This wouldn’t have been possible without the vision and effort of the and the , who created a platform where dreams like mine could come true. I’m endlessly grateful to them, and to all the amazing friends who stood by me and helped shape this once-in-a-lifetime experience into something even greater.

Moscow 🇷🇺🇷🇺gave me more than just moments—it gave me memories, lessons, and a reminder of why skateboarding is not just a sport, but a family and a lifestyle. ❤️

📢 June 25th – A Day of Bravery and Voice 🇰🇪🛹

On June 25th, skateboarders and fellow Kenyans stood together to advocate for their rights and freedoms of expression and picketing. It wasn’t the peaceful day many had hoped for—tension filled the air—but the bravery and voices from the skate community were loud and clear.

We, the skaters, have long been victims of police harassment just for skateboarding in our own city streets. Ironically, the one space that was promised to us—a skatepark at Central Park—now sits flooded like a frog pond, abandoned and forgotten.

On June 25th, our wheels rolled not just for fun, but for change. ✊🏽🛹

Appreciate Your Filmers – They Make Your Footage Shine

Skating is a culture built on creativity, energy, and community. Whether you're landing a fresh line or sending it down a stair set, that moment becomes truly memorable when it's captured right. But behind every sick clip, every buttery slow-mo, and every perfect angle—is someone holding the camera, making you look like a star: the filmer.

Too often, filmers are the unsung heroes of the session. They're the ones crouching low for that fisheye shot, running beside you to keep the line tight, or standing in the cold just to get the right take. Without them, there’s no highlight reel, no Instagram banger, no edit to post on YouTube. They're not just pointing a camera—they're crafting the vibe, setting the tone, and making the moment live on.

So next time you're out stacking clips, show your filmer some real love. Appreciate their eye, their hustle, and their patience. Offer to carry their bag. Buy them a drink. And most importantly—film them too.

Yeah, that’s right. Your filmer might be a skater just like you, and maybe they’ve been waiting for someone to return the favor. If they want to hit a line or drop a trick, grab the camera and let them shine for once. It’s a mutual respect thing—skating is a give and take.

In the end, it’s a team effort. You bring the trick, they bring the vision. Together, you’re creating something way bigger than a single clip. You're building a story, a session, a memory.

Respect the filmers. Appreciate the lens. And don’t forget to return the favor.

We, the skateboarding community in Nairobi, are deeply concerned and frustrated by the continued harassment we face from Kenyan police, especially on weekends. Despite being peaceful, passionate youth expressing ourselves through sport and art, we are constantly treated as a threat rather than a vibrant part of Nairobi’s cultural and creative fabric.

We would also like to understand the purpose of the skatepark recently constructed at Central Park. Was it not built to support and uplift skateboarders in Nairobi? If so, why are we still being targeted when trying to make use of public spaces to skate, connect, and grow our community?

Skateboarding is not a crime. It is a positive, unifying force that keeps many young people off the streets and focused on something constructive. We respectfully urge your office to address this situation and help protect the future of skateboarding in Kenya.
