Eliud Kipchoge born four decades ago in Kapsisiywa , Nandi County. Last born in a family of 4. He lost his dad when he was young so he was raised up by her mom a kindergarten teacher.

Inspired to run by his neighbour, former world and Olympic steeplechase silver medalist Patrick Sang who later became his couch. Eliud was a teen then(16) , the year was 2,000.

In 2003 World Championship he recorded his first major win specialising in 5,000 Metres. In 2004 Olympics he won a bronze, a silver in 2007 World Championship and another silver in 2008 Beijing Games.

After a poor performance in 2012 Olympics he opted for marathon. 2013 he ran his first ever marathon and won finishing at 2 hours 5 mins 30 seconds. Berlin Marathon was his second marathon and he came second.

In 2014 he won Rotterdam Marathon in Netherlands. He subsequently won marathons in Chicago (2014), Berlin (2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022), London (2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019). The 2018 Berlin victory was a world record of 2 hours 1 minute and 35 seconds. He won a gold medal in 2016 Olympics.

7th October 2019 he raced in the city of Vienna, Austria. He became the first man in the world to finish a marathon in less than 2 hours. After Ineos 1:59 he challenged the world that "NO HUMAN IS LIMITED"
