AFRICA NEEDS INVESTMENT EDUCATION

Africa is a rich continent. We have all it requires to develop.

Development is in the mind and not in resources. If resources could bring about development, then Africa could be so rich by now.

One day, I was given a story of Kitale-Kisumu Highway. I was told how the rich soil that was removed from the road as waste is the rich soil in Israel.

As we see construction on our Kenyan roads, the soil is discarded as of no use. But the Israelites realised the same can be used to agriculture on the rocky hills. They therefore lifted the soil by air back home instead of heaping it on the roadside as we see it currently.

When South Africa was under white colonialism, the country rose to 2nd World state. The only 2nd World country at that time.

When the same South African was freed by black Africans, it fell back to 3rd World. Where were the colonialist presidents who were also the South Americans getting resources to raise the country status?

Let's all see the potential we have with the little resources that seem little in our eyes.

KABURENGU AGAIN
There has been a deadly accident in kaburengu claiming the life of 1 driver and leaving the other serious injured.

The 2 trucks heading in opposite direction had head on collision. The truck heading to Malaba had faulty breaks thus hitting the one heading to Eldoret.

The driver of the truck heading to Eldoret died on spot while the one driving towards Malaba sustain serous injuries.

Eye witness say the truck with faulty breaks caught fire which consumed the entire head. Good enough it was carrying blast which was not risky as gasoline.

The other truck heading to Eldoret was completely dismantled whereby the engine is spilled all over in pieces.

The drivers are not yet identified by now. The Chimoi slopes are still dangerous for heavy trucks. Initially, the slopes were deadly because of planned gang activity that used to target trucks with precious goods.

ROADS IN OUR COUNTIES

Am trying to imagine the Kenya we lived in and the current Kenya with counties. In the 70s, 80s and part of 90s, roads were valued by the then Rural Roads. Today, with close county governments, roads are more worse.

Today have been driving in the rural Bungoma county to wonder how road users navigate this road. I want you to imagine how the road will look like when it rains.

For four days am told it has not rained yet the road is impassable. Now think how it will look like after the rains. It is better for the boda boda who already know which places have deeper ditches that others.

But all in all, this is how most of our roads look like in the rural Kenya. Once while still working with BK Radio in Mt. Elgon I walked on some roads and wondered whether the district was part of Kenya and more Bungoma county.

I wish the remaining presidents of Kenya should devise ways of visiting counties. The previous presidents have been fooled where graders work on roads a week before the visits. I smell it funny because even the presidents bother not to know why such roads were prepared prior to their visits.

Am longing for a president that will ambush counties to see for self what type of leaders are in leadership. We are tired of money hungry leaders who care more of their stomachs rather than Wanjiku.

Kenya is so wealthy from my perspective. I wonder why roads are repaired a number of times a year. Why not do it once and for all? The later will deny the money hungry leaders an extra penny.

I pray for my better country though I can't know how to make it. I wish leaders were ready to help me get Kenya of my prayers.
