THE BOY AND THE GOLDEN BIRD
A Short Moral Story.
A young boy was carrying a bunch of firewood when he saw a glamorous golden bird sitting on the branch of a tall tree. He became fascinated by the uniqueness of the bird, and thought about climbing up the tall tree to get the bird.
He instantly dropped his bunch of firewood and began climbing up the tree. On his way up, he slipped on a tree branch all of a sudden and fell heavily to the ground.
A girl witnessed it and hollered at him.
"Hey, you almost cracked your head open! What exactly were you doing up on that tree? There are no ripe fruits up there, so why did you climb? My elder brother fell from a tree and was knocked unconscious, dislocated his left elbow and broke a bone in his feet. Do you want to end up like my brother, all because of some unripe fruits? You'd better not climb that tree again".
As soon as the girl left, the boy stood up, dusted himself off and went on climbing up the tree. He was so determined to catch the beautiful bird. But he fell off the tree again as a branch broke down. This time, he scratched his knee.
A boy saw what had happened and shrieked at him.
"What exactly were you thinking going up to that tree? Do you know that you could break your neck from falling off a tree? If you break a bone, your parents would end up spending their whole money in the hospital. You should never climb up that tree again. There is no single ripe fruit up there, absolutely none!".
On the ground, the boy watched him left, then stood up, dusted himself off and began climbing the tree again. But in spite of his fear, he was more determined than ever to continue what he had begun. As he reached the golden bird, he grasped it and happily climbed down the tree.
The bird was so beautiful and charming that everyone who saw it marveled and showed great admiration towards it. Then an elderly man walked up to the boy and exclaimed.
