19-year-old boy awaiting to join University from Kiandai Kirinyaga County shot dead by a police officer at Kiandai town.

The boy identified as Derrick Gachoki was playing pool with his friends and agemates at Kiandai market centre when police on patrol showed up and scattered them

His friends thought he had gone home only for them to be informed that Derrick's body had been found at Kerugoya Hospital Mortuary with a gun shot.

Derrick was set to join university this September after concluding his secondary school education last year.

Family and friends are now calling for justice as preliminary reports indicates that a police officer identified as Mary has already been arrested.
