Once upon a time in a small town called KIMANA there was a wise elder named Evan Juma . He was known for his deep understanding of life and was often sought out for advice. The town had long focused on empowering girls, recognizing the struggles they faced. Girls were given opportunities for education, mentorship, and support. Over time, the girls in the town grew strong, confident, and capable, and everyone celebrated their success.
However, Evan noticed something troubling. While the girls thrived, the boys in the seemed to lose their way. Many struggled with self-doubt, unsure of their roles and responsibilities in a changing world. They were taught to be strong but never to express their emotions, to lead but never to ask for help. The pressure to live up to these expectations weighed heavily on them, and some began to feel left behind.
One day, Evan gathered the Town together and told them a story. He spoke of a great tree in the forest that had two strong roots, one on each side. Both roots were vital to the treeβs survival, anchoring it firmly in the ground and nourishing it from deep within the earth. But if one root were to be neglected, the tree would become unstable, its leaves would wither, and its branches would break.
Evan looked at the Town and said, "Our boys and girls are like the roots of this tree. We have nurtured one root well, and it has grown strong, but we cannot forget the other. If we want our village to flourish, we must also empower our boys, giving them the tools and support they need to grow into strong, kind, and balanced men."
The town realized the wisdom in Evan's words. They began to create programs for the boys, encouraging them to pursue education, express their feelings, and seek mentorship. They taught them that strength also lay in kindness, and leadership in listening. As the boys gained confidence and direction, the town grew stronger as a whole.
From that day forward, the town thrived like never before, with boys and girls, men and women, working side by side, each empowered to be their best selves. The wise elder Evan Juma had shown them that true strength comes not from focusing on one root but from nurturing both, ensuring that the entire tree of the community could stand tall and weather any storm.
And thats how KENYA BOYCHILD CAMPAIGN was born.
