Relief for Bungoma residents as nurses suspend their 3-week strike to allow time for negotiations with county executives. The union has further directed its members to report back to work within the next 24 hours.

Through the CECM for health, Carolyne Makali, the county government has thanked the union for prioritizing dialogue.

The two sides agreed on;
1. Promotions, Re-designation, and Confirmation: Processes are at various stages of implementation.
2. Comprehensive Health Insurance Cover: Britam Insurance has resumed services for healthcare workers.
3. Allowances: Uniforms and other allowances will be paid in line with applicable circulars.
4. Non-Victimization: No staff member who participated in the strike will face disciplinary action.
5. Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR): ADR mechanisms will be employed to address emerging issues amicably.
