Keen Sword 19
Approximately 10,000 combined U.S. service members, along with the Japan Self-Defense Force, or JSDF, participated in exercise Keen Sword, which is the largest joint/bilateral field training exercises created to increase combat readiness between the two forces.

Confinement rescue training
Fire Protection Airmen recently participated in some confinement rescue training scenarios at the Red Horse Silver Flag Exercise Site on Kadena Air base. Classes of ten of twelve firefighters cycle through this unique course throughout the year.
Kadena MC-130P refuels for Operation Tomodachi
Airmen fill an important role in Operation Tomodachi. In the Pacific Air Forces, only eight Airmen provide a unique service to the operation, rapid refueling. Tech. Sgt. Renee Crisostomo introduces us to a Kadena Airmen who provides this service while deployed to Yokota Air Base.

3/12/2011 - KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- Civil engineers from Kadena Air Base arrived at Misawa Air Base to help restore commercial power on the base that was taken out by the earthquake on Friday. Tech Sergeant Mike Tateishi was on the scene as civil engineers prepared to deploy on Saturday.
