whenever i read hater comments i always have to remind myself that those people deserve compassion, since you wouldn't go out of your way to s**t on someone else if you were 100% comfortable with yourself. not that i'm at 100% either…the reason their words sting a lil is bc they echo my own self-doubt. if i were completely confident in my self-expression then i wouldn't really care what people say

not gonna lie, i've been struggling with motivation a lot lately. a big part of it is that ira glass quote about taste that everyone loves, where i listen to my mixes and i’m like wow this is so bad even though of course it does because you can count your finished projects on 1 hand. and there’s always the post-upload sadness that happens every time bc i’m not getting scooped up by the youtube algorithm yet. we all know that the answer to both of these things (as with most things in life) is time and persistence, but it doesn’t always feel so obvious

in this video i build a budget-friendly vocal recording booth made of PVC pipes and comforters stolen from my mom's stash for a grand total of $70. i spent way too long at Home Depot cutting the pipes to the right measurements, and by too long i mean the people walking by were probably like "does that guy work here??" then the lady at checkout was like "whatcha buildin" and i was like "a vocal booth" and she was like "are you a rapper?" and in my head i'm like damn, why she makin all these assumptions? you don't think i could be an R&B singer?? it's not like you can tell that my singing is ass (which it is) just by looking at me…anyways, if you have any thoughts let me know in the youtube comments section so the youtube algorithm thinks my video is getting 'engagement'
