A Japanese entertainment show conducted an experiment: They had a handsome guy compliment an average-looking girl for 50 days.

Kyoka (21 years old) was the girl participating in the experiment. She had always been very self-conscious about her appearance, considering herself plain and unattractive, and had suffered from low self-esteem due to teasing from friends about her looks. She always wore a mask to hide her face.

The production team of the program suggested that Kyoka learn Italian within 50 days to boost her confidence. In reality, they brought in a half-Italian model to teach Kyoka, while the main objective was to give compliments rather than teach the language. Kyoka remained unaware that this was an experiment.

Throughout the 50 days, the male model engaged in conversations with Kyoka, complimenting her personality and charming appearance, including praising her Italian language skills.
After 50 days, Kyoka took off her mask when going outside, became more interested in taking photos, and gained much more confidence in her appearance. She also developed an interest in makeup, and her personality became much brighter.
